The Role   
   
We’re looking for a passionate and talented Data Scientist to join our rapidly growing and   
ambitious team.   
 
The Marketing Science arm of Acceleration, a division of WPP, is driving the future of   
marketing, and you will affect real business outcomes for our clients. You will work with teams   
across the group to provide data-driven insights and solutions that help our clients make more   
effective marketing decisions.   
 
You’ll have the opportunity to apply your skills to understand business problems across a wide   
variety of industries and deliver meaningful recommendations from data science/econometric   
models, which measure how media contributes to sales.   
 
Day-to-day, you’ll be hands-on developing statistical models to support predictive analytics   
and deliver non-technical presentations to all levels of the business as well as technical   
documentation to the wider team. You will play a central role in mentoring and up skilling our   
ambitious and growing team.   
  
Required Experience   
   
  • Candidates will have at least 7+ years’ experience delivering data science and advanced analytics solutions across a range of sectors. Ideally, this experience will be predominately gained working in the advertising and marketing sectors.
  • An advanced quantitative degree in data science, computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or a related data centric field.
  • A strong background in data science, statistical modelling, or econometrics with significant relevant experience providing advanced analytics solutions to a variety of business situations and a proven ability to synthesize complex data; as well as a deep understanding of modern machine learning techniques
  • Experience in statistical modelling and machine learning techniques (feature engineering, regression, classification, segmentation, cross validation, Bayesian techniques etc.)
  • Excellent presentation skills, distilling complex analysis and concepts into concise business-focused takeaways
  • Strong programming skills in Python &/or R and SQL
  • Proficiency in at least one cloud stack such as GCP, AWS, Azure. GCP preferred.
  • Proficiency in dealing with large datasets
   
   
Preferred Experience (desirable but not essential)   
   
  • Practical experience of market mix modelling projects, within the advertising industry
  • Previous experience with Digital Attribution for a media related industry
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (i.e. Terraform, CloudFormation) is an advantage.
  • Experience constructing digital reporting dashboards, and strong understanding of digital media and platforms, i.e. ad servers, Facebook, Google Ads, Campaign Manager, DV360, etc.
  • Experience with Tableau, Looker, Datorama and other business intelligence tools.
