Overview of job  

In this role, you will be responsible for handling media vendors and facilitating clients throughout the buying process and additional duties as assigned. The role includes both independent and coordinated buying initiatives.

In this role, your goals will be:

In three months:

  • Complete knowledge of buying and planning systems.
  • Understanding of the GroupM buying and planning process – includes basic understanding and importance of proprietary tools.
  • Execute basic media and proprietary campaigns.

In six months:

  • Conduct negotiations with partners and close deals.
  • Analyze and interpret data and its impact.
  • Develop strong relationships with partners.

In 12 months:

  • Develop, execute and analyze negotiation deals.
  • Promote GroupM proprietary products.
  • Close negotiation deals and manage assigned clients.

GroupM Services Responsibilities:

The GroupM Services team adopt a collaborative and customer-centric approach in delivering high value and innovative solutions for our Agencies’ and Agencies’ clients, including the activation and execution of dynamic media campaigns.

The GroupM Services Buying team delivers best in class media buying and implementation.

The following are the responsibilities of every Buying team and the varying degree of complexity is subject to individual job level:

  • Ensure team understanding of clients’ brand, GroupM Agency’s deliverables and campaign KPIs
  • Ensure team understanding media behaviors and how the target audience interacts with digital media
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve and enhance clients’ campaigns and advise GroupM Agencies accordingly
  • Proactively address, and escalate when needed, any issue that compromises the quality and timeliness of deliverables
  • Work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders to deliver value to clients
  • Conduct quality control and assurance of the own and the team’s workstream before handing it over to other specialists
  • Ensure team understanding and 100% compliance with finance processes and compliance with GroupM policies and procedures
  • Continuously expand and share knowledge and understanding of new trends, media channels and technologies

What your day job looks like at GroupM:

  • Independently and thoroughly perform TV campaigns for the assigned portfolio of clients
  • Monitor, manage and report on clients’ budgets and campaign KPI’s
  • Ensure the best in class processes are adhered to for all campaign operations
  • Maintain day to day relationships with GroupM Agency Planners and ensure timelines are adhered to and workloads are managed effectively
  • Assist the Campaign Delivery team while building, maintaining and upholding a good client relation by constantly providing value-added solutions and services
  • Work closely with all team members to improve working efficiency and effectiveness
  • Establish effective collaboration and trustworthy relations with Television vendors
  • Regularly learn new tools and delivery technologies to maximize campaign performance and deliveries
  • Provide actionable and insightful mid and post campaign reports to improve in-flight optimizations and future campaign brief recommendations
  • Any other project or tasks as assigned from time to time

Minimum qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent diploma in disciplines as STEM, Mass Communications, Digital Advertising/Media, Business Studies or relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel
  • Effective communication skills and ability to adjust to a fast-changing environment
  • Team player - able to receive and provide feedback professionally, thrive in a team environment and able to work collaboratively
