Wavemaker is an agency of GroupM, the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a Performance Manager to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for playing a key role in ensuring our clients’ digital activities run smoothly servicing a specific set of client business groups.

It requires running the day to day digital activities from tactical planning through to development of strategy, working lock step with a digital director and other junior support staff to drive organic growth and fully support our fast growing and demanding client. This is a new role as we are growing very quickly due to increased opportunities with this client.

The key focus of this role will be on one client specifically across a specific set of Business Groups, but with our new structure and company set up in Hong Kong there are amazing opportunities to be had to work on lots of other interesting brands and pitches as we grow, not to mention huge amounts of organic growth.

We are a bit different from other regional/global teams in that we do a lot of implementation centrally, so if that is what you are interested in – this client & team is definitely for you.

Our clients have very high expectations, but also need careful management. We need someone who therefore has good attention to detail, but is also able to push back when necessary.

In this role, your goals will be:
In three months:

  • Regularly in client meetings to build relationships
  • Creating insightful reports that take our standards of work a level up
  • Known for attention to detail, accuracy and not dropping the ball on clients

In six months:

  • Make unique ground-breaking recommendations
  • Deliver a thought piece to our clients on an trend on social or search

In 12 months:

  • Submission of a case study (either internally or externally)

What your day job looks like at Wavemaker:

  • Deliver SEM and Social recommendations and proposals that are consistently backed up with sound insights, research and historical data
  • Monitoring campaign performance and pacing and conduct performance analyses on a regular basis, using a data driven approach to optimize campaigns
  • Support SEM campaign across specific BGs that the team covers
  • Cultivating the day to day client relationship, through in-person meetings, presentations, and frequent contact
  • Train your team members for basic SEM and data analytics’ skill
  • Regularly liaising with the main search and social specialists (e.g. Google, Facebook) to ensure we are constantly updating clients on their latest products and services
  • Presence at client meeting as Performance specialist
  • Ensure appropriate financial and acceptance requirements are delivered
  • Accurate completion of campaign reconciliation
  • Effective use of industry planning tools – working together with strategy and the account team on strategy documents
  • Support in building training and workshop materials for clients

Client Management:

  • Ensuring delivery of clients’ implementational plans on time where possible but also managing client expectations by pushing back on unrealistic expectations where appropriate
  • Presence at client meetings


Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience required: 4+ years, predominantly in PPC/SEM and Social
  • Mandarin & English working proficiency
  • Regional or global experience preferable but not mandatory if willing to learn
  • Detail-minded and highly organized person who can manage close working relationship with clients and global digital media owners
  • A team player is a must
