About the role:


The Experience Team is responsible for providing thoughtful and exciting recommendations for innovative work and bridging the gap between world-leading creative and media. The Strategy Lead will be responsible for key senior relationships, connecting expertly and being very much a creative strategic expert and council to our leading clients. The Strategy Lead leverages their mastery of strategy, creative and media channel to make sure recommendations are consistently excellent and innovative, and that in-channel performance and data integrity is maximized.


Some of the things we’d like you to do:


  • Support the Client Lead and Chief Experience Officer in driving culture and connection strategy for brands, be familiar with building strategies tailored for the specific channels that innovates and excites
  • Understands and can articulate the nuance of how users behave in media channels and the nuances of each platform
  • A creative thinker that can inspire our team internally and clients to think differently about how to engage with audiences and challenge the status quo (i.e. not someone who is following processes to build tactical plans / manage the application of creative best practices / etc)
  • Oversee the development, roll-out, and adherence of best practice campaigns across channels 
  • Partner to understand the wider region to assess broader cultural behaviours, market needs, and creative nuance, to build strategic frameworks to 'innovate, plan & execute'  media campaigns.
  • Assess and drive measurement' best practices, and their merit, and provide sound strategic recommendations to optimise/adjust according to market dynamics
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, and key suppliers, leading strategic communications with these stakeholders. 
  • Bring in-depth knowledge of all digital platforms operating as in-agency expert in your field of specialism, whilst showing a good understanding of the overall media landscape
  • Identify new platforms, partners & integrations, evaluate these (and existing platforms) over time and maintain a POV here on when certain platforms are appropriate to recommend, and confidently present POV to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop thought leadership pieces & case studies throughout the course of the year to demonstrate role within wider industry as a social expert
  • Deliver quarterly, semi-annual, or annual updates on work quality as it relates to owned workstreams
  • Gain a strategic understanding of the client’s business and KPIs, and how campaign optimizations meet those KPIs
  • Lead through vision, values, and model leadership behaviors while championing and facilitating change in a positive manner
  • Provide timely and actionable feedback to the team to aid in their development
  • Strong and effective communication across all levels; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally
  • Thoughtfully craft career development plans for your reports  and contribute to the development of training materials for the department


A bit about yourself:


  • An experienced and exceptionally talented individual, you will be passionate about digital media and have a desire to be at the cutting edge of online advertising
  • At least 8 years’ experience within a strategic role with a track record of leadership and business growth
  • A keen collaborator, with the ability to pivot when working with internal, external stakeholders, and other 'Essence' markets & clients.
  • Strong understanding of the digital landscape, suppliers and technology
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills. Able to analyze and draw conclusions from data and be comfortable presenting quantitative information in a client context
  • Demonstrate the ability to present your strategic recommendations to external/internal clients
  • Eager to learn new concepts and challenge the existing business framework
  • Highly developed interpersonal, team building and relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in senior stakeholder relationship building and management
  • Proven capability in building, developing and mentoring people and teams
  • Past experience in managing profitability in the context of the agreed scope of work
  • Experience in setting work quality standards and consistently delivering against them
