Senior Transformation Consultant

The Senior Transformation Consultant (STC) provides strategic marketing, advertising and technology (MADtech) experience, thought leadership, and a deep understanding of data and technology solutions to address client needs for MADtech transformation. The STC works collaboratively across GroupM and wider WPP agencies, technology partners, and client stakeholders to lead discovery, assess MADtech ecosystems, design POC experiments, develop financial models and co-create roadmaps for media modernization. The STC will also support GroupM Nexus practice growth and innovation by participating in business development, with a particular focus on incremental business growth; market/client research; experimentation; methodology, solution and product development.

The primary responsibilities of the STC will be:

  • Provide client-facing marketing and advertising transformation and technology consulting within the context of consulting engagements.
  • Lead the deployment and analysis of marketing maturity assessments and MADtech ecosystem audits
  • Facilitate client/agency working sessions (face-to-face and virtual)
  • Co-create transformation roadmaps consisting of time-phased, agile experiments, tactical and strategic initiatives that build towards the client’s MADtech “North Star”.
  • Deliver cost/benefit analysis (ie. Value case and/ or financial impact assessment) for clients to understand the value and financial impact of recommendations and experiments.
  • Be responsible for delivering high-quality, high-value consulting deliverables across all engagements.
  • Identify future opportunities with clients to grow engagement and drive incremental revenue growth.
  • Maintain MADtech proficiency across vendors and products by participating in and/or leading madtech forums, communities, research, publications and events.
  • Be the primary point of contact for clients, and partners, on consulting projects; develop and grow client and account team relationships.
  • Support MADtech development, implementation and support teams by providing subject matter and account expertise, insight into industry trends and client requirements, use case development deployment oversight.



  • Native Japanese and English language skills
  • 5-10 years’ experience in the consulting space, with a focus on marketing/advertising strategy and solutions.
  • Working knowledge of advertising technologies such as Ad Serving/Analytics/Tag management, and cloud centric MADtech platforms is a bonus.
  • Knowledge around CDP and broader ad-serving including media activation measurement, optimization and attribution is highly desirable
  • Experience in marketing data, operations and technology assessments and roadmap delivery
  • Experience in leading engagements with senior client and agency partner leadership, sponsors and SMEs.
  • Strong relationship building skills and previous experience working with C-level executives.
  • Experience working with internal account/sales teams to define/identify account growth opportunities.
  • Cross-industry experience.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation experience.
  • Strong project management experience is a bonus.
  • Awareness of pricing models.
  • Experience in consulting methodology and frameworks development.
