Overview of job

Mindshare is seeking a Regional Digital Director who will take on a key leadership position that will develop global media principles, strategy and coordinate strategy across all global markets, EU, APAC, Greater China and the US.

This individual will be part of a dynamic global team who is, together with the client, pioneering a global digital transformation for our FMCG client, using data and insights as its spine to build sustainable growth for their business across the consumer journey – awareness, consideration, preference and conversion.

As part of the Mindshare ethos, this individual will share in the spirit of “Good Growth” as an internal stakeholder of Mindshare and external stakeholder with the client and creative agency, where the creative agency and media agency operate as a single integrated team across the globe.


Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Global Media Lead where the Global team are in Singapore.

Measures of success –

In three months:

  1. Understand the scope of work and roles and responsibilities of the Global Strategic lead, working closely with the global media lead and team to enable the regions and markets to understand and apply the strategic communications and connections framework to their recommendations
  2. Become the Global champion for the Integrated Planning Process and support the regional teams to adapt the global strategy for their regions
  3. Understand the business goals and media goals of the client to ensure that our global strategy is aligned with the growth ambitions of the client
  4. Be the Global Insights Tools champion for the tools that have been adopted globally for strategic planning

In six months:

  1. Own the scope of work and roles and responsibilities of the Global Strategic lead.
  2. Provide valuable strategic insight to the global client brand lead – media, consumer, touchpoint whilst formulating the global strategy, including innovation
  3. Begin to form a strong working relationship with the global team and work closely with the global operations team for seamless campaign delivery
  4. Contribute on a strategic level to the Global Digital Transformation initiative as it is rolled out across the markets – defining out the business and marketing goals to be achieved from a modular level as part of the roll out

In twelve months:

  1. Become an integrated senior leader within the Global team, working intimately with each of the global specialists to formulate the strategic approach and how this inter connects with the other elements of the Mindshare SOW – Investment, Digital, Operations, Client Management
  2. Formulate and spearhead bespoke “Test and Learn” opportunities with key technology/media partners for the client including, supporting the Regional teams to set Annual Innovations Goals during Annual Planning.
  3. Work intimately with the client on their market cluster strategic and marketing goals as part of the Digital Transformation initiative.


Responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide thought leadership, identify and evaluate industry best practices for media strategy development.
  • Maintain and develop a global strategy community across all regions, being a key support to all media strategists.
  • Own and drive client’s media strategy agenda, pushing the work to excellence. Present and feedback on media strategy and lead the thinking and discussion with clients.
  • Leverage data and insights to design media strategy for a Food Category Client.
  • Develop Media Guidelines and Principles to be shared across all regions and evaluate the work developed to ensure the principles are being followed.
  • Develop and evaluate measurement frameworks that ensure the impact on client’s business.
  • Own and develop strong working relationship with senior clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Own integration process with Global Creative agency, and design processes that ensure integration across all regions.


What you will need:

  • Minimum 10 years axperience in Media Strategy and Media Planning on both digital and offline channels.
  • Proven ability to craft a story and strong narratives interpreted from consumer behaviour data.
  • Strong presentation skills and be comfortable presenting to a variety of stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Have a good understanding of the global media and measurement ecosystem.
  • Experience managing multiple markets work (Regional and/or Global).
  • Ideally possess FMCG experience on a Regional/Global Level.
