GroupM is the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a SEO Manager to join us.
In this role, you will lead a team to provide strategy, insights and high-quality deliverables and work with paid search and wider agency team to build integrated marketing solution for our clients.


GroupM SEO Manager

Overview of job:
SEO Manager is responsible for leading a SEO project team, providing the integrated search thought leadership, best practice and innovation internally and to our clients, influencing and inspiring our people along with the good communication capabilities to ensure the project success and internal and external satisfaction.

Reporting of the role:
This role reports to Head of SEO.
 
Responsibilities of the role:
  • Developing SEO and performance content plan with strategic thinking across multi search platforms (search engine, social search, vertical search…).
  • Client and team management – ensure success and satisfaction internally and externally.
  • Seeking pro-active opportunities that would benefit the client’s business KPIs
  • Effectively delegating work to the team members and ensuring they understand their role and responsibilities.
  • Manage relationships with partners & vendors – negotiation, product updates and tests and ensure that clients and internal teams are up to date with all new features and products.
  • Maintaining a positive, motivating and inspiring team culture.
 
 
Tasks & Measurement:
In 3 months:
 
  • Be familiar with the SEO and performance content proposition (projects, optimization tasks, our services, tools, etc).
  • Build knowledge across GroupM’s bespoke search tools and our vision/purpose, and be able to articulate services to the agency and client
  • Develop relationships with all key client and agency stakeholders, as well as members within your immediate team
  • Ensure work streams are being carried out to a high standard.
 
In 6 months:
  • Developed a clear strategy and roadmap for the SEO business in line with client ambitions and goals – SEO and performance content planning, operations, data and analytics
  • Support the team members’ career development through regular catch ups and organise training where needed.
 
In 12 months:
  • Have a thorough understanding of all things of GroupM – awareness of how our products and services can be integrated to the Account whether in or out of scope.
  • Lead the strategic direction of the client account.
  • Developed a solid working relationship with planning teams, other function teams under GroupM and clients
  • You will deliver the best practice achieved in the past 12 months and share the learning & key observation on the market in team & agency level.
 
What you will need:
  • 6+ years of SEO experience with at least 1+ years’ experience managing and developing a team.
  • Extensive experience in client communication and management, excellent time management and organisational skills, and a strong ability to handle conflicting demands.
  • Previous track record of delivering SEO and performance content strategies across the multi-platforms (search engines, RED, Zhihu, vertical sites…) that have driven and aligned to successful client business results.
  • Good knowledge of changes within the SEO/search industry and the latest practices and procedures.
  • Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).
