Job Summary:

The Data Operator is part of the Insurance Data Management team. This role will be focused on, but not limited to, management of day-to-day data operations, including loading and monitoring files through a controlled process, ensuring completeness of loads, driving analysis and resolution of any issues that occur during operations; and data analysis and issue resolution, which includes identifying issues, and analyzing, understanding and managing the resolution.  The Data Operator will be responsible for ongoing data operational processes from multiple areas within the company including but not limited to Information Technology, Investments, Accounting, Actuarial and Annuity Administration.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Data warehouse operations: Owns the day-to-day administration of operations of the data warehouse system. These operations include the load of daily and monthly files and ensuring they are loaded appropriately, balance and meet standards for timeliness, etc.
  • Day to day monitoring: Responsible for the monitoring, tracking and reporting of controls and performance of the Data Warehouse. This includes making sure that the automated daily DQ reports are logged and assigned for action and resolved over time.
  • Data analysis and Issue Resolution: Owns the process of implementing any changes to the data based on issued identified by the data quality team. This responsibility includes root cause analysis, documentation of issue and proposed resolution, project planning and coordination with downstream and upstream systems and data stewards and assisting in implementing process changes where necessary.
  • Communication with Stakeholders: Ongoing communication with all relevant stakeholders to ensure transparency in data operations and enable efficient processes and resolution of issues when necessary.
  • Testing implementation (as needed): During the release cycle, there may be needs for additional testing resources to hit the target dates. This role will assist where needed.
  • Preforms other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Science, Finance, or Equivalent relevant experience
  • 1-3 years of insurance related experience, preferred.   Experience with data management practices specifically around data analysis preferred.
  • Experience with managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Excellent oral, written, and listening and ability to clearly articulate complex information to others
  • Demonstrated ability to manage issues from identification through resolution
  • Ability to establish positive relationships and work effectively with all departments and affiliates to ensure integration of strategic goals and principles
  • Working knowledge database development, SQL and analysis tools (SQL Server or Oracle, Business Objects, MS Access)
  • Working knowledge of VB/VBA, C++, Java, or other Object-oriented programming language a plus.
