Delaware Life is staffing a new proprietary wholesaling team to drive sales through its distribution partners nationwide. An internal sales desk will be staffed to support the external wholesalers and be responsible for the direct sales of annuities. The marketing team must be positioned to support the build out of an internal and external wholesaling team by developing and driving targeted campaigns using data analytics and a variety of media. 

The Director, Digital Marketing position plays a critical role working with sales and distribution teams to support our strategic firms, leading marketing and promotional campaigns to increase awareness. The role works closely with the channel marketing managers and product marketing experts to ensure that the delivery of the message is designed appropriately for the channel and target market. Target markets include registered and non-registered reps, firms (banks, broker-dealers and independent marketing organizations), their gatekeepers and operational offices. While no annuity background is required, the role must understand how to use and design critical data analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive full-cycle brand and marketing campaigns - planning, launch, engagement, tracking, optimization and reporting - for message development, video, advertising, and digital content, ensuring compliance of materials
  • Work closely with Sales partners to design and execute various tailored customer journey content for advisors and other target audiences using Salesforce or other technology
  • Responsible for the delivery of digital communications materials including email campaigns, digital ads, website content, and some, although more limited social media and search engine optimization
  • Collaborate with other marketing partners to ideate and develop digital content strategies and tactics to improve traffic while maintaining a superior user experience
  • Analyze campaign metrics and market trends to architect and shape marketing strategy
  • Coordinate planning and execution of follow-up activities with internal departments such as sales desk, user experience and data analytics teams
  • Analyze results of activities and present findings and recommendations to senior management and key firm management partners to increase advisor engagement
  • Analyze DLM website and provide well-defined strategies to improve site conversion and ROI
  • Analyze the opportunity for growing traffic. Continually monitors new trends and evaluates risk/reward for implementation
  • Assess existing strategies and introduce new tactics

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, required
  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in marketing, campaign, and branding strategy
  • Clear and demonstrable understanding of sales process and critical opportunities to build on-going touchpoints with different target audiences
  • Experience with marketing automation is required; Marketing Cloud experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex marketing concepts to a broad audience
  • Strong organizational and program management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to utilize data and insights to determine action plans and assess the return on investment
  • Ability to create strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Ability to think strategically and apply creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively plan, develop, and execute marketing campaigns
  • Project management skills; requiring strong cross-functional team facilitation and attention to detail
