Intern, Front-End Engineering (Angular)
We are seeking students majoring in computer science programs. Preferably undergraduates in their senior year or in a graduate program with a strong depth of development knowledge. This is a paid internship with a 3-4-month assignment timeframe. This opportunity will be working with senior leaders in the company to contribute towards the development of an administrative CS platform in an insurance environment. This is will be an opportunity for students to apply their academic experiences into real-life principles. Our goal is to provide our interns a meaningful experience where they can experience different aspects of CS.
Group 1001 has built an annuity administration system that is used by both internal and external users. The front end is a single-page application built using Angular. The front-end engineer would be expected to work on a team of 5-6 others, with 1 designer and 1 front-end engineer and 2 back-end engineers.
Lastly, we prioritize strong performers. Our goal is to transition our interns into full-time positions when they perform well and add value to the organization.
Responsibilities
- Development of Angular single page web application
- Support existing Angular code base with bug fixes or enhancements
- Work with Product Designer to build and maintain custom UI Components
- Uphold existing application security standards; define new standards and practices as necessary.
- Senior year or graduate level university student majoring in Information Technology, focusing on web and application development.
- Understanding of web development (Angular 8/9, HTML5/CSS3, Apollo Graphql Client)
- Self-directed, confident and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to the technology most appropriate to complete a task
- Experience with analytics tools, a plus
- Prior internship work experience highly desired
