 Job Summary:

The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating multiple projects involving cross functional teams to deliver key IT and business process solutions.    The individual will be involved from project inception through implementation and will help to manage risk, assign and track resources, vendors and budget.   Additionally, will help provide clear reporting to project teams and senior management.

 Main Accountabilities:

  • Manages all aspects of a multi-phased IT project or multiple IT projects, typically involving multiple disciplines in the IT function
    • Clearly communicates project goals, responsibilities and deliverables, and timetables to project teams and stakeholders, and ensures all are satisfactorily achieved.
    • Manages vendor/service-provider and drives them to meet their commitments
    • Keeps an open line of communication and keeping them informed.  Provides status reporting and has experience in client facing roles.
    • Ensures team understands their goals clearly and is motivated to deliver under your leadership
    • Provides support of critical technology project and program management phases and components (i.e., risk, requirements/specifications, design, build, test, release, compliance, etc.)
    • Tracks estimates, effort, deliverable quality, defect tracking, reporting to management, etc.
    • Establish new processes to increase efficiency while improving existing ones
    • Exhibits deep understanding of Agile and iterative methodologies.
    • Manages short and long term goals of the project and align them with client and organizational demands.
    • Defines, develops and determines time-frame, procedures, staffing requirements and allotment of resources to various phases of projects.
    • Working knowledge of main IT functions, services and SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), and ability to come up to speed quickly in required areas of expertise relevant to the success of the project.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Experience
    • Industry: 5  years of relevant insurance or similar industry experience
    • Functional:  Sr. Project Manager with 3-5 years of experience in large scale system transformation and migration projects, especially those involving data integrations between multiple systems
    • Project Management: Experience of managing multi-year and $2M+ dollar initiatives. Ability to work on complex projects with multiple streams simultaneously
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, ore related field
    • Project Management certification, including PMP, PgMP, and/or PMI-SP preferred, or equivalent proven work experience
  • Professional Skills
    • Vendor management:
      • Experience with vendor/service-provider management and driving them to meet their commitments(Must have)
    • Client Management
      • Experience in client facing roles for status reporting
      • Keep an open line of communication  and keeping them informed
    • Team management
      • Ensure team understands their goals clearly and is motivated to deliver under your leadership
  • Technical Skills
    • Project Management:
      • Understanding of critical technology project and program management phases and components (i.e., risk, requirements/specifications, design, build, test, release, compliance, etc.)
