Job Summary

Group1001 is looking for an Asset Model Specialist to join us in our Actuarial Modeling Department.

Main Accountabilities

  • Creates asset modeling inputs (BondEdge) for actuarial projection software (MG-ALFA).
  • Researches, builds, reviews and validates security models for fixed income investments.
  • Prepares and analyzes reports for portfolios containing diverse asset classes.
  • Utilizes advanced data analysis tools and reports to assist with in-depth analysis and reporting.
  • Communicates model results and impacts to internal customers.
  • Collaborates with modeling actuaries in identifying assets that support a well-balanced company asset/liability position.
  • Collaborates with internal departments (such as Investment Accounting and Middle Office) to validate models.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, accounting, finance, economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of related work experience in insurance, banking, investment or financial services industry, with a sound understanding of fixed income securities and derivatives
  • Data analysis and/or modeling background helpful
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and Access; BlackRock, BondEdge, MG-ALFA or programming experience a plus
  • Must be able to multi-task, set priorities, and schedule own work to meet established timelines for short- and long-term deadlines, and be disciplined and organized in the efficient use of time.
