Job Summary
This position is responsible for the production of management reports that highlight key financial indicators, performing in-depth financial analysis, explaining variances from expected results, and enhancing management reporting capabilities through technological application.
Main Accountabilities
- Preparing and enhancing management reporting of earnings, cash flows, and capital.
- Developing actionable insights into all areas of financial performance, often involving coordination with other functions.
- Analyzing and communicating emerging trends to senior management through data-driven analysis.
- Leveraging technology to build efficiencies and controls in Financial Planning and Analysis processes.
- Strong actuarial & risk management capabilities. Ability to influence decision making at various levels of the organization. Ability to juggle and negotiate multiple deliverables to various senior stakeholders under tight time frames.
Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Mathematics, Business or other related fields.
- FSA or ASA with 5+ years of experience in insurance industry.
- Excellent verbal communication, facilitation, and relationship management experience.
- MS Office Suite experience.
- Works collaboratively with all levels of management.
- Advanced expertise in Excel (including VBA and PowerQuery) and SQL.
- Preferred experience with data modeling and BI tools such as PowerBI.
- Knowledge of insurance accounting, financial statements, and annuity valuation.
- Experience with investment analysis a plus.
- Strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills; experience analyzing insurance products and related industry information.
