We are actively looking for a Search Engineer with excellent technical expertise, who is interested in joining our growing project. This is an excellent opportunity to play a role as a key contributor in creating the next generation of network-centric distributed and scalable architectures.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute the technical implementation of Solr
  • Design, build and maintain an enterprise-wide federated search & analytics infrastructure.
  • Apply data mining, NLP, and machine learning (both supervised and unsupervised) to improve relevance and personalization algorithms.
  • Build and deploy integrations to connect Solr to a variety of data & content sources.
  • Work side-by-side with digital product owners, software engineers, and UX designers to build federated and personalized search experiences that deliver highly relevant search results to users.
  • Optimize and tune search queries and indices to improve search relevancy.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required.
  • 5+ years’ proven experience of enterprise development and a desire to work on a fast-paced development team with the experience of balancing multiple tracks of work concurrently.
  • Understand architecture of search system and components and interfaces
  • Strong Problem-solving skills and handling of on call responsibilities
  • Ability to work with project teams located in multiple geographic locations
  • Hands-on experience crafting and developing in the heart of a search solution (e.g. Solr, Lucene, Lucidworks or Elastic Search, etc.)
  • Processing and bulk Indexing various types of documents like HTML, PDF, Office, Images, and in different languages
  • Extensive Experience on Lucene & SOLR -Search Engine, Text Mining, Indexing SOLR search library, and REST APIs
  • Knowledge of multiple language support and natural language recognition and processing
  • Proven expertise in designing and configuring SOLR/ Lucidworks / Elastic schema and understanding in advanced schema fields.
  • Operational understanding and experience deploying and handling search at scale
  • Building data / text pipelines including custom components in either Lucidworks or Elastic
  • Proven experience in SOLR query languages and writing complex queries with joins and aggregate that deals with large amounts of data and fine tuning the search results.
  • Experience in Pattern Matching to extract data from Web Sites (Web Scraping), Text Documents, or html files using Python, Java / C#, and RegEx and Automation using Python or Java
  • Should have solid understanding of search and recommendations (Query parsing, Spell Check and associated search topics)
  • Knowledge of computational linguistics and/or NLP a plus
  • Knowledge in setting up spiders to crawl web sites
  • Knowledge working with Python and R libraries
  • Knowledge in Web Scraping, extracting text from HTML, PDF, Word, etc.
