Grid Dynamics is looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join the Studytube team in Kharkiv.

About the project:

Studytube was founded in 2010 and now is the most complete learning platform of the Netherlands including a personalized experience, monitoring of courses, creation of learning tracks, and insights into your in-house expertise.
The analytics engineer will be the first full-time hire of the data team, report to the CPO and work closely with a number of product managers and business analysts who need data to make informed decisions. Over the course of the next year, we aim to further grow the data team to three or four people.
Analytics engineers are a new breed not just to Studytube but to the entire analytics industry. They sit at the intersection of business and engineering and provide clean data sets to a wide range of roles requiring data to make decisions. They work according to engineering best practices like version control and continuous integration, and have enough business acumen to understand how to best surface data to the rest of the organization.

  • Synch a variety of data sources such as the product database, CRM system, financial systems, event tracking and others to the data warehouse in a reliable way using an ELT tool
  • Implement and maintain additional data sources such as logs, event tracking, or scraped external data
  • Clean the data sources to assure that IDs, dates, currencies, etc are consistent across
  • Maintain historical records for data that is only available as snapshots in the data sources
  • Create views that surface the data in easy to use ways for product managers, business analysts, and other data users within the organization
  • Maintain the data infrastructure together with the engineering DevOps team
  • Set up and maintain processes and tools for all code and scripts
  • Support product managers and business analysts in a variety of tools such as Looker, Google Data Studio, Metabase, etc.
  • Work closely with the vendors of the data infrastructure to assure sufficient support levels and optimal pricing

Current data stack:

  • Snowflake data warehouse
  • Matillion ETL
  • Heap and Mixpanel event tracking
  • Intended extensions to data stack
  • dbt data transformation platform
  • Looker


  • 5 years of working with a data warehouse such as Snowflake, Redshift or BigQuery
  • Several years of experience writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience with AWS, specifically RDS
  • Experience with Git
  • Self motivated and self managed
  • Adept at thoroughly documenting all systems and solutions

Will be a plus:

  • Experience with dbt
  • Working experience in a SaaS organization focused on metrics such as MRR and engagement
