About Our Opportunity
We are seeking a Full-Time Material Handler for our Leland, MS Retail Location. A Class A CDL is strongly preferred; however, candidates without a CDL will be required to obtain one within six to nine months of employment. GreenPoint will cover the cost.

Summary/Objective
The Material Handler supports day-to-day operations of the retail location by safely handling, storing, packaging, and distributing fertilizer, chemicals, and related products. This role involves operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and blending equipment, maintaining warehouse and site cleanliness, assisting with inventory activities, and supporting seasonal operational demands.
During peak planting and harvesting seasons, the Material Handler may be required to perform CDL-related duties. Employees in this role must either possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License or be willing to obtain one.
Essential Functions
- Safety First: Perform all duties in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety policies; consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices at all times
- Safely handle, store, label, segregate, and transport hazardous materials, including pesticides, fertilizers, and chemicals, in compliance with all applicable regulations
- Receive, store, stage, bag, load, and unload fertilizer, chemical, and related products according to established procedures
- Operate forklifts, blending equipment, and other material-handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Pull, prepare, secure, and load customer orders using proper sequencing and loading techniques
- Inspect warehouse equipment, vehicles, work areas, and safety stations; report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or maintenance needs to site leadership immediately
- Obtain and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), required endorsements, certifications, and annual training updates
- Operate tractor-trailer trucks and other company vehicles to transport products and equipment; follow efficient routes while maintaining professional customer service
- Perform DOT-required pre-trip and post-trip inspections; ensure vehicles are properly equipped with required safety equipment, placards, and documentation
- Maintain accurate driver logs (when applicable), shipping papers, permits, delivery records, and preventive maintenance documentation in compliance with regulations
- Load, secure, verify, and unload cargo to ensure safe transportation and timely delivery
- Assist with fertilizer spreader fueling, pan testing, calibration, and basic plant or equipment maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional warehouse, vehicle, and site environment
- Support seasonal operations, assist in training new or seasonal employees on safe work practices, and perform other duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient site operations

Required Qualifications
- Specific position/site qualifications and progression may apply, consult with Human Resources
- High School graduate or GED; may be offset by experience
- Experience working in a warehouse environment (e.g., product storage, product staging, etc.) preferred
- Experience driving a forklift (e.g., performing basic operations such as driving forwards, driving backwards, lifting, and lowering boom, maneuvering in tight areas without damaging products, etc.) preferred
- Experience working with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets (e.g., pulling and placing pallets on/off vertical product racking systems and trucks, maximizing storage by stacking products vertically, etc.)
- Must possess a valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy
- If hired, will be required to attain Class A Commercial Driver’s License; company will pay for all related expenses to attain licensure

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse or outdoor agricultural setting. Employee will regularly encounter extreme temperatures, adverse weather, dust, loud noises, and a hazardous agricultural and/or industrial environment that requires regular use of PPE.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Needs to stay in good physical condition to regularly lift more than 50 pounds, climb ladders, perform preventive maintenance activities, and assist other plant/warehouse workers in various physical duties necessary in running an agricultural location. Employee will regularly be required to walk, stand, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, handle, feel and grasp. Must be able to work at heights between 45-65 feet from a catwalk, while using proper harness personal protective equipment on occasion to maintenance fertilizer conveyer. Workload is frequently medium to heavy.
Travel
Travel outside of the assigned area is very rare.
