Logistics & Transportation Systems Manager
We are seeking a hands-on logistics leader to build and scale our transportation infrastructure. This role will lead the implementation of our Transportation Management System (TMS), optimize fleet performance using Samsara telematics, and help position our operation to function as a future 3PL platform. The ideal candidate thrives in build-mode environments and can translate data into operational efficiency and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
TMS Implementation & Optimization
- Lead onboarding and full deployment of new TMS platform
- Establish workflows for dispatch, load planning, carrier management, and reporting
- Train internal teams and drive adoption
- Develop KPIs and dashboards for freight visibility and performance
Fleet & Technology Optimization (Samsara)
- Analyze telematics data to improve routing efficiency, fuel usage, idle time, and driver performance
- Develop scorecards and accountability systems
- Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual processes
3PL Readiness & Growth
- Develop scalable processes for freight brokerage and 3PL expansion
- Evaluate margin opportunities in backhaul and external freight
- Build SOPs, pricing models, and carrier partnerships to support growth
Operational Performance
- Improve on-time delivery and asset utilization
- Reduce freight spend and accessorial charges
- Partner with Supply Chain and Customer Ops to align demand with transportation capacity
Qualifications
- 5+ years in transportation, logistics, or fleet management
- Experience implementing or managing a TMS
- Strong understanding of telematics systems (Samsara preferred)
- Experience improving asset utilization and freight margins
- High analytical capability with strong execution discipline
Work Environment

Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands to finger is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
No heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force may occasionally be required. While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, and copiers is needed. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Travel
Ability and willingness to travel across North Alabama and Southern Tennessee primarily and GreenPoint AG footprint 25%.
