 Our Opportunity

We are looking for an Area Sales Specialist for the Mississippi Delta area.  Our culture fosters a connected work environment, employee engagement, and career development. 

Summary/Objective

The Area Sales Specialist provides solutions to customers for a designated area and/or set of customers. It is their responsibility to conduct analysis, assist with sales budgets and guidelines, generate leads, and develop sales strategies and sales forecasts. They also coordinate and build positive relationships with vendors and suppliers, set sales targets, and resolve customer issues and complaints. Moreover, the role will lead and serve as a mentor to other sellers in the business on the GreenPoint sales process and focus on customer success objectives. 
 
Essential Functions
 
  • Represent GreenPoint Ag effectively by developing comprehensive knowledge of our offerings
  • Maximize sales performance through strong relationships with vendors and with customers and awareness of their needs
  • Establish and achieve location/area/region sales targets as appropriate
  • Utilize new and current research of markets and competitors to drive sales growth
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of GreenPoint Ag and our products, research customer needs, and identify how our solutions can address those needs
  • Generate leads and grow existing customer book of business
  • Develop new and unique sales tactics to best serve customers
  • Work with others in the company to design specific outreach efforts
  • Utilize GPAH sales tools (digital, CRM, agronomic, ag tech, etc.) to utilize standardized processes and enhance the sales process.

Required Qualifications

  • Eight or more years of sales experience within a similar industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience
  • Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel with assigned territory at least 50% of the time
  • Experience in closing enterprise-level deals
  • Strong ability to analyze business opportunities effectively 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.  Exposure to outdoor and unconditioned warehouse conditions, including extreme temperatures, humidity, noise, vibration, atmospheric conditions, and workplace hazards is occasional.  Proper use of personal protective equipment in such conditions is required. 
 
Physical Demands

Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is constant and essential. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands and fingers is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
 
Lifting and carrying 50+ lbs. may occasionally be required. While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, and copiers is needed. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
