Jungle Boys is searching for a Production Manager to oversee production timelines, workflow, and daily operations across the Volatile and Solventless Labs, Edibles Kitchen, and Lab Packaging teams. This role directly oversees leaders and team members of the Lab Departments through daily task direction, production workflow, training, and accountability. The Production Manager is a critical component of the facility businesses – supporting the Head of Cultivation with product development is as important as maintaining the Jungle Boys culture and brand standards throughout the production team.  

 Requirements:

  • Ownership of production timelines, workflow, team priorities, and operations across the Lab Departments; provide team expectations to ensure production goals, quality standards, and compliance requirements are consistently met
  • Direct Oversight of Lab Department Managers and respective teams; training, coach, and develop future department leaders; communicate staffing needs and operational concerns to leadership.
  • Partner directly with Facility Planning Managers to develop the product workflow required by the business needs to meet monthly/quarterly/annually oil projections, yields, and department KPIs to maintain consistency in cost of goods
  • Maintain consistent cadence with Lab Teams to deliver new product skus on a weekly basis as determined by the Home Office and Facility Planning Managers; R&D product development and new master sku creation are key
  • Utilize the facility production workflow to align staffing, materials, equipment, (work-in-progress) WIP, packaging supplies, and other production needs with daily and weekly requirements.
  • Identify process improvements and partner with leaders to increase productivity, efficiency, and team accountability while maintaining required quality and compliance standards.
  • Oversee the finished goods product flow through the Lab Pack team to prevent bottlenecks, maintain production timelines, and ensure final products are properly recorded, tracked, and converted; hand off goods to Inventory and Distribution Departments with all required information.
  • Direct oversight of Quality Control for Lab departments to include product consistency and filling standards; labeling and batch verification; sealing, proper storage and transferring between facilities; lab sample and testing preparation; and distribution readiness.
  • Oversight of inventory accuracy and product accountability for the Lab Department product conversions tracked and entered accurately into seed-to-sale, including raw materials and packaging supplies; testing lab sample process compliance; maintain regular inventory cycle counts and data entry; transferring and manifesting for WIP and finished goods. 
  • Partner with internal teams for department accuracy; Inventory & Compliance Team for seed-to-sale adjustments and corrections; Purchasing Team for timely supply and material orders; Cost Analysts for production KPI completeness; Planning team for workflow efficiencies and product development
  • Oversee equipment maintenance schedules across all Lab Departments. Identify, document, and escalate equipment issues, maintenance needs, potential workflow delays, or operational concerns to facility leadership as soon as possible
  • Ensure team members consistently follow company SOPs, safety procedures, GMP and PPE requirements, cleaning and cross-contamination protocols, equipment operating procedures, and applicable regulatory and compliance requirements. Maintain strict adherence to safety policies in extraction lab areas.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work environment while reinforcing accuracy, accountability, quality, safety, and compliance throughout the Lab Department teams.
  • Cross functional partner and good communicator with other Department Leaders, including Inventory, Planning, Packaging, Leadership, and Home Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in inventory tracking software in a cannabis, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of Excel and Microsoft Suite
  • Proficiency in data entry and mathematical calculations 
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standard operating procedures, checklists, and protocols.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in management role in a manufacturing or cannabis environment, or similar

Working Environment:

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment can range from low to high. Temperatures in the work environment range from cold and dry to warm and humid, respective to the product processes and plant lifecycle. The work environment requires the use of PPE at all phases, and strict cleaning and cross-contamination protocols. The product and plants are agriculture goods that have the ability to produce odors that may linger, can penetrate clothing, and heighten senses.
