Accounting Associate
Description
Position Mission:
The position reports to the Accounting Manager and requires the ability to work effectively across all levels and functions of the organization. Key success factors for this position include strong communication skills and working knowledge of accounting systems and spreadsheet software, detail oriented, a hands-on work ethic, and the desire to be a team player in a small office environment.
Position Performance Measures:
• Accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
• Enter invoices for payment on a timely basis and reconcile to credit card statements
• Research, track and resolve accounting issues
Responsibilities:
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the Accounting and Merchandising Departments
- Accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Enter invoices for payment on a timely basis and reconcile to credit card statements
- Monitor status of accounts receivable and confirm credits/refunds have been received
- Provide project status reports to the Accounting Manager on a regular basis
- Offer assistance and support to company personnel
- Other duties as assigned
Experience, Education, and Abilities:
- Minimum of two years previous experience in an accounting department
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Recent experience and working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Word)
- Working knowledge of Google products (Gmail, Web Search, Docs, Calendar)
- Organized; Strong written and oral communication skills
- Aptitude for numbers - proven problem-solving capabilities
Education:
Associates degree or relevant working experience
