Director of Corporate Finance - IPG

The Director of Corporate Finance–IPG’s principal responsibilities are to partner with Motion Industries’ Leadership by providing proactive, thought-provoking, value-adding insight into corporate financial performance; and contribute world class financial leadership and resources to drive the achievement of Motion Industries’ goals.  The Director of Corporate Finance-IPG will identify opportunities and drive decision-making by collecting, managing, analyzing, and disseminating financial information and analyses.  The Director will drive positive change, contributing to effective and efficient accounting processes, while improving the management of assets. 

Responsibilities:

Team Management

  • Mentor, coach and lead the IPG corporate accounting team
  • Set goals and related priorities; coach and develop team members
  • Establish and monitor appropriate employee performance objectives, introduce best practices and process improvements
  • Establish and maintain consistent cadence of period performance and development discussions with team members

Transactional Management

  • Manage corporate level accounting processes and procedures
  • Drive efficiencies in transactional processes
  • Oversee review of account reconciliations, analyses and related journal entries
  • Prepare, review & report monthly adjustments and other significant estimates
  • Identify and shift transactional processes from Motion Industries to Financial Shared Services
  • Align with Financial Shared Service’s intercompany processes

Operational Support

  • A strategic resource and business partner for the leaders of corporate functions
  • Proactively seek out opportunities to increase business knowledge and create visibility within the corporate organization
  • Lead the development of corporate metric-driven financial analysis
  • Oversee timely communication of actionable insights and understanding of variations from plan and forecast on corporate financial metrics and key performance indicators
  • Lead the preparation and distribution of corporate department level monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
  • Lead strategic initiatives focusing on corporate operational efficiency and improvements

Finance Support

  • Support Finance leadership in the design, maintenance and presentation of budgeting and forecasting process; collaborate with leadership in all aspects of financial support, project analysis and modeling
  • Partner with other Finance leaders in developing and/or improving accounting processes and documentation, recommending changes that lead to the adoption of world class processes
  • Prepare and report monthly cash flow forecast
  • Prepare and report quarterly and annual report packages
  • Assist Finance leadership with the prioritizing, tracking and reporting on Finance related IT projects
  • Partner with both internal and external business partners such as with Treasury, Financial Shared Services, IT, and others to develop, optimize and maintain processes and solutions
  • Other ad hoc projects as assigned by the VP of Finance - IPG

  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting

  • Self-motivated and able to independently manage multiple responsibilities concurrently
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to propose positive business solutions to problems
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to collaborate within a team, managing team dynamics and relationships
  • Ability to manage data between multiple systems
  • Experience with PeopleSoft General Ledger or similar ERP, Blackline and analytics systems, such as Qlik

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; Master’s degree preferred
  • CPA required
  • Seven or more years of corporate accounting, finance and reporting experience
  • Five or more years of experience in leading people
  • Experience managing multiple ERP systems consolidated into one financial reporting platform
  • Experience with managing multiple projects
