GPC Enterprise Community Manager

Description:

GPC is looking for an Enterprise Community Manager (ECM) to engage teammates across the global organization and assist in growing and refining our new digital workplace/intranet to help shape the way we communicate and collaborate with our workforce.

This individual will be a member of the GPC Strategic Communications team, reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, and will lead the day-to-day operations of the global intranet. The GPC Communications team supports our GPC mission by helping to build a world-class employee experience for our teammates.

As the Enterprise Community Manager, this individual will support the Strategic Communications and global platform teams, provide technical troubleshooting assistance and content strategy guidance to content owners, lead training aspects related to the platform and manage the health of the global intranet, including communicating strategies, sharing best practices and partnering with functional business areas to address challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Build digital workplace strategy recommendations for stakeholder approval, commitment and working group execution
  • Plan and manage the end-user engagement calendar with content owners from across the business
  • Serve as the liaison between the global hub and Business Unit spoke sites to promote alignment and consistency among all sites and users
  • Engage with global Business Unit teams to build, launch and continually engage users in their spoke sites
  • Drive programs to create balance of information sharing with user-generated content, end-user conversations and peer-to-peer networking
  • Train current and new content owners and administrators in the strategy, workflows, platform technology and responsibilities for the global intranet
  • Serve as the governance monitor for users; manage inappropriate use and escalation procedures as needed
  • Oversee the end-user experience, welcoming new members and serving as the point-of- contact for the platform
  • Build and deliver ongoing training for internal SMEs, content owners and all employees to expand knowledge and expertise of the global intranet
  • Build and analyze the global intranet metrics, including qualitative and quantitative measurements; provide insights and plans of action to editorial teams and executive sponsors
  • Remain engaged with external best practices and digital workplace networks and bring new trends and best practices to the internal team

  • Relationship builder and network connector – You have a strong external professional network of your own of like-minded community and digital workplace managers from which you can draw inspiration, tips and benchmark best practices. Equally, you effectively build and nurture relationships with teammates and executives at all levels of the organization.
  • Measuring results – You understand the breadth and depth of analytics and are able to effectively deliver regular dashboards measuring business outcomes and marketing ROI. Equally, you know how to analyze and spot trends and adjust plans to keep programs on target.
  • Engagement manager and chief listener – You know engagement is not just about content consumption. You have put effective strategies in place to drive end user participation and interaction. You also know how to listen and be visible in the digital workplace without being overly obtrusive or the dominating voice. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience working in complex digital communication, community management or intranet administration with demonstrated excellence in developing, implementing and monitoring strategic digital communications programs
  • Complete understanding and application of Intranet, Digital Workplace principles, concepts, practices and standards
  • Full knowledge of digital communities and employee social networking industry practices
  • Comfort in training others on technology platforms
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with executives who lead a complex organization
  • Demonstrated strong project and time management skills
  • Excellent SharePoint and Microsoft skills
  • Previous work with enterprise community platforms and/or digital workplace platforms, especially Lumapps
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Business Administration or related field, or four additional years of equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred
