Position at NAPA Auto Parts

We are seeking an experienced Director of Demand Generation to drive sales through paid media placement and wholesale programming with key accounts to create the highest ROI plans for the business.  This individual will work collaboratively with our national media buying and planning agency to build a paid media strategy.  This role will also lead our work on the customer data platform to create 1:1 marketing opportunities by leveraging our first party data.  

 This role will require an expertise in media measurement to ensure performance of media activities.  Measurement plans need to allow for real time optimization and inform future planning.  Additionally, this role will require significant cross-functional collaboration and planning to build key account plans.  Building value-based relationships will be critical to this role. NAPA is looking for an optimistic and self-motivated individual that ask “why” vs. “why not” and finds opportunity and understands the business need for a collaborative and can-do attitude.  This is a leadership role with direct reports.

  • Work in partnership with our media planning and buying agency and CDP provider to build strategic investment plans, manage implementation and measure results.
  • Create process and measurement tools to maximize the investment of our paid media and wholesale resources.
  • Work in partnership with key accounts team to develop annual programming. Implement processes and systems to prioritize and govern work.
  • Oversee all media buys and manage the statement of work with media agency partners.
  • Build value-based relationships across our internal and external stakeholders to create and deliver incremental value outside of our contractual commitments.
  • Ownership of media measurement plan and test and learn initiatives.
  • Fiscal responsibility for the paid media spends and budget management of demand generation team’s work.
  • Work cross functionally with larger IMC team on broader projects and accountable for all aspects of the paid media functions.
  • Manage a team of at least 2 or more internal roles.

Experience, Education, and Abilities:

  • 7+ years of marketing expertise
  • 2+ Year’s brand leadership/supervisory experience
  • Experience managing cross-functional partners inclusive of agencies and key accounts
  • Ability to create a strategic vision and motivate multiple teams, agencies, and individuals to exceed expectations.
  • An innate sense of curiosity to not only see what is around the corner, but to be able to also influence and activate a belief in the idea and create the roadmap to get it done.
  • An ability to identify problems and create solutions with systems, processes, and effective communication.
  • A sense of grit and determination to achieve and drive results while also leading with an empathy that empowers others to grasp, accept, and join the journey.
  • An expert attention to detail for riving implementation and a creative can-do attitude to provide opportunities for testing and learning – outside the box thinking.
  • A comfortable mix of innovative, white space thinking with structured and methodical segmentation, analytical and strategic approach.
  • Leading with a transparent, clear, and collaborative approach/dialogue to articulate the context behind the why and be able to effectively influence peers and the system.

Most time will be spent on the computer/phone and office collaborating with multiple teams. May have travel up to 15% - will be dependent upon media upfront presentations and industry events.
