POSITION SUMMARY:

Increase sales, profitability and market share for assigned product lines and categories.  Responsible for both product planning and product marketing including managing the product throughout the lifecycle, prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with suppliers to deliver winning products and programs.  This position involves working closely with NAPA Headquarters Management, store personnel & Parts suppliers. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Drive sales and market share growth by operating cross-functionally with Product Sourcing, Sales, Finance, IT, and Marketing departments.
  • Determine pricing strategy through analysis of sales trends, competitors, buying habits and planograms of products and services to promote sales opportunity.
  • Work with new suppliers as needed to ensure successful onboarding process
  • Assist in special event coordination (trade shows, marketing incentive programs, etc.).
  • Assist with the design of product catalogs (electronic and hard copy) which will include the layout, grouping, order, images, charts, etc.
  • Must be the subject matter expert to identify market leaders, trends, customer retention, etc. for assigned product line.This includes knowledge of products, consumer needs, buying practices, sales goals, and retail environment related to assigned category.
  • Conduct ongoing research on new and upcoming items to promote product line growth.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain the quality of goods, timely delivery, effective communications and compliance to terms of contracts.
  • Collaborate with corporate product team(s) regarding needs for space, promotions, new programs, etc.
  • Arrange for samples to be sent to and approved through merchandising centers and travel where necessary to be sure displays are set accordingly.
  • Must be the face of the product which includes ongoing store visits and working with sales team and sourcing team on special pricing requests.
  • Must be able to assist customers as needed in resolving issues that may arise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience, Education, and Abilities

  • Three or more years of experience in product line management and sourcing
  • Bachelor Degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Effectively collaborate with internal and external customers
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Demonstrated skill in data analysis techniques with experience identifying and resolving incomplete information and inconsistencies in data.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Works independently receiving guidance only on unusual or complex issues.
  • Periodic travel will be required.
