SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, the Director of Credit Management is responsible for administering and ensuring compliance with the company’s global credit processes including researching credit history, applying acceptable credit lines, and recommending payment terms for new and existing customers. The Director of Credit Management will work under the Treasurer to execute the strategy utilizing credit management techniques to manage and control the company’s credit risk. The Director of Credit Management will work to continuously improve processes, manage, and develop staff, and communicate to internal and external stakeholders.

JOB DUTIES

• Responsible for the development, implementation, and delivery of strategies for the organization as it relates to customer credit risk and management.
• Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing systems for the credit management function, including such activities as the collection of personal/business data for customer analysis.
• Oversees a high volume of work and reports on outstanding balances, makes timely credit decisions and evaluates customer credit limits based on risk.
• Maintains supporting documentation including sensitive financial information, files, and records for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Records, updates, and reconciles related financial information for monthly Bad Debt Reserve analysis; Works closely with the Treasurer to recommend quarterly and year end Bad Debt Reserve adjustments.
• Manages third party collection agencies and integration of the credit process with acquisitions.
• Negotiates with customers on payment issues when necessary.
• Manages and monitors bankruptcy proceedings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or business-related discipline and seven (7) or more years of related experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel including, but not limited to V look up, pivot tables, charts, graphs and tables.
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word and relational databases.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of the latest advancements in automated processes that will improve efficiency by eliminating manual processes.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects.
• Professional and self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills.
