IT Software Build and Release Manager

Provide Design, Execution, Support, and Administration for Various Systems in the Build & Release phase of the software development lifecycle. Document and maintain hardware, software, and database variations between multiple environments across development, test, QA, and production environments.  This includes many technologies, including Java, DB2 Stored Procedures, Maven, Archiva, Javascript, NodeJS, Subversion, and others.

 Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise to enable a transition from a traditional SDLC model to a DevOps model
  • Performs administrative functions of Change & Release across all environments
  • Coordinate implementation of system changes with appropriate IT departments to ensure error-free implementations and releases
  • Supports the implementation of Change Management tools, processes, and procedures
  • Take lead in documenting and resolving environmental difference issues as they relate to the stability of our application business systems
  • Build and Coordinate the implementation of Front-End Java applications using a number of products & Tools, including, but not limited to: Jenkins, Subversion, Archiva, Red Hat Linux, NodeJS, Javascript, Compuware ISPW & CollabNet/TeamForge
  • Work with application developers, project managers, quality assurance staff, and technical support as needed to coordinate implementation of production changes, and to correct and any implementation or performance issues
  • Work with team to enable our DevOps transformation
  • Provide administration functions for the following Change Management systems: CollabNet VersionOne and TeamForge, Compuware ISPW, Jenkins, Subversion, and similar such tools.
  • Customer Service, this position provides assistance to the applications development team as needed to perform functions using the Change Management tools. Provide end-user training as required, when changes to the tools are implemented
  • Assist in the detection and correction of issues in our production environments
  • Daily communication with all IT departments, especially software development
  • Change Management system vendors
  • Quality Assurance team interaction
  • Support for the Australian business operations
  • Supports company safety and health programs
  • Have a clear understanding of emergency procedures and responsibilities

 Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Change Management systems and Application Development Life-Cycle Controls
  • Technical skills include Jenkins, Subversion, Red Hat Linux a plus, LAN/Server environment, MS Office, and Internet technologies, IBM zOS (JCL, TSO, CList, DB2) a plus
  • Project planning and execution
  • Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Minimum of two (2) years of college is preferred
