The Director will work closely with GPC’s D&I Executive Committee to lead the development and implementation of the organization’s key D&I related initiatives to include employee resource groups, and will work with each group to enhance their value while maintaining a focus on D&I. In this highly collaborative role, understanding the goals and objectives of the business and the intersection of functional touch points will be critical in delivering value.  The Director of Diversity and Inclusion will work to ensure the D&I strategy is embedded in all aspects of the employee lifecycle, such as recruiting, retention, performance management and development.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Partnering with the Executive Diversity and Inclusion Committee
  • Forming and leading an internal Diversity Council
  • Acting as a trusted advisor and leader for Company Resource Groups
  • Develop and manage a diversity and inclusion strategy with a roadmap and goals focusing on achieving measurable, sustainable results
  • Partnering with the business unit representatives and corporate support leaders to design and implement change initiatives that foster and enable a culture of inclusion that drives employee engagement
  • Embedding diversity and inclusion into all people and business processes
  • Leveraging reporting and analytics to drive data-driven strategies
  • Serving as an external voice for D&I
  • Connecting to best practices and networks on emerging D&I initiatives

Qualifications Include:

  • 5+ years of experience with Diversity and Inclusion, Change Management, Talent Management or other related experience leading organizational-wide programs
  • Demonstrated experience leading Diversity & Inclusion programs and practices in a mid-size to large organization with a population that includes hourly and salaried employees
  • Ability to create and execute effective strategies and transformations
  • A deep understanding and expertise of D&I and knowledge of global trends
  • Demonstrated proficiency to engage, influence and work with executive level leaders
  • Experience building strong relationships and driving change across cross-functional teams
  • A willingness to learn and be highly adaptable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Worked through and driven decisions in ambiguous situations where delivery is the focus
  • Exceptional judgment and empathy when working with team members
  • Expertise in using metrics to inform, influence and communicate a vision to a wide range of audiences
  • Attention to detail and quality, while working with a sense of urgency
Ability to partner with third parties to advance the D&I objectives
