Job Description

At Motion Industries, our Coding Analysts are key members of our team. Their traditional and industrial product knowledge enable them to provide and manage accurate data to assist/support company branches with the vast amount of products we supply to our customers. Motion Industries offers an excellent benefits package which includes options for healthcare coverage, 401(k) plan, tuition reimbursement, vacation, sick and holiday pay.


  • Analyze and research product to determine and maintain interchangeability
  • Create and maintain internal stock numbers and all data elements associated with transactional information such as (part #s, description, taxonomy, unit of measure, keywords, etc.)
  • Create and maintain supplier/manufacturer information such as (company names, addresses, phone #s, contacts, etc.)
  • Work with large data files for product identification and new product induction into the Motion operating system
  • Acquisition support – cross-referencing acquired companies’ supplier and item information
  • Process electronic coding requests through the company operating system
  • Assist branches with operational questions as needed
  • Track and report daily, weekly, and monthly coding activities

  • Product knowledge is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Access, Word, PowerPoint – high proficiency in Excel is required)
  • Great analytical skills; must be able to analyze and work with large amounts of data
  • Ability to listen to branch needs and troubleshoot for a solution
  • Effective proofreading skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines on a consistent basis
  • Must be able to maintain good supplier/customer relations
  • Service oriented
  • Ability to handle sensitive material and practice data governance standards
  • Must be a solid team player
