Job Description:

This position will report to a Senior Manager of APAR Shared Services and is primarily responsible for leading and directing the staff and processes of the Payment Disbursement Group.  These duties would include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Follows and enforces all Finance, Operations, HR and Security Policies set forth by Genuine Parts Company
  • Oversees all staff, department functions and processes performed by the Payment Disbursement Group (Pay Cycle Processing / Bank Control / Pcard / AP Refunds)
  • Manage the professional development and productivity of all staff members
  • Oversees the payment, reconciliation process and monthly review/signoff for the various P-Card programs
  • Troubleshoots computer/software problems and works as a liaison to IT personnel
  • Works as a liaison to GPC Reporting for payment related requests from the Subsidiaries and other areas in GPC
  • Performs the role of Bank Administrator for various disbursement bank accounts, including setting up new users, approval of electronic payments and all manual transfers
  • Responsible for maintaining the relationships with the bank representatives and GPC Finance
  • Performs review of staff’s performance (productivity, accuracy, and resolution of past dues)
  • Develop, implement, train, and ensure compliance with department policies and procedures
  • Assists with employee reviews and counseling sessions
  • Provides direction regarding meeting and exceeding departmental goals
  • Assists internal and external auditors and provides information as required
  • Provides on-demand analysis of payment data for the Accounts Payable Director, location management, GPC Headquarters and Subsidiaries
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of Payment processes and implementation of improvements and changes
  • Promote a service-centric environment for internal/external customers
  • Additional tasks as determined by management

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
  • 4 + years of Management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the AP process  
  • Treasury or cash management experience
  • Accuracy, detail-oriented, proactive and sense of urgency
  • Strong analytical and data analysis ability and background  
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
