ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Software Applications Architect role provides technology leadership across a multidisciplinary technical team. The role will focus on designing and delivering high-quality application B2B solutions as a lead of B2B Integrations architecture solutions as an individual contributor. This Architect will be responsible for delivering solution designs and documentation that conform to industry best practices and satisfy business and technical requirements in a cost-effective manner.

This role will work closely with Enterprise Architects to ensure that solutions align with the enterprise IT roadmap and strategy. Additionally, the Software Applications Architect will work closely with key departmental, management and project stakeholders across the organization. The ability to collaborate and work effectively with all levels of management and staff within the organization is a core competency.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS or BA in Computer Science, a related field or significant relevant work experience. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years architecting complex application software technology solutions for highly distributed systems using .Net technologies.
  • 2+ years in an architecture role architecting large enterprise-class projects/products.
  • Experience in design and support of high-transaction / high-availability systems
  • Experience in developing APIs and as an Integration architect. 
  • Experience with Dev/Sec/Ops practices (Jira and Jenkins preferred)
  • Experience with multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS or Google)
  • Experience in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud platform methodologies
  • Experience designing solutions that promote Test Driven Development
  • Expertise in various API authentication methods and data structures
  • Demonstratable expertise in cXML, XML, JSON, and other formats for HTTPS data exchange
  • Expertise in the areas of requirements gathering, diagramming & documentation, software / technology evaluation and selection
  • Demonstrated track record of successful collaboration with departmental leadership in defining, enforcing, and sustaining enterprise technology standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, including meeting facilitation and team leadership

QUALIFICATIONS THAT ARE A PLUS

  • Experienced in eCommerce platforms such as Ariba, Coupa, Chevin, OBN, Epicor, Aconnex, PartsTech (3rd party ordering platforms)
  • Experience in the architecture, design, development and support of large B2B eCommerce software solutions.
  • Experience in the areas of solution & technology research, cost analysis, risk identification, implementation strategies
  • Knowledge of PunchOut, Ordering, Catalog Management, Procure2Pay processes a huge plus.
  • Experience collaborating with and leading onshore and offshore team members to ensure SLAs are met.
  • Experience using data monitoring and alerting tools such as Splunk, Application Dynamics, Nagios, and New Relic

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with Enterprise Architecture team to gain an understanding of technology platforms across the enterprise to leverage company assets while adhering most effectively to architectural best practices and ensuring fully integrated solutions
  • Develop past, present and future state architecture documentation for the solution architecture library
  • Lead design and architecture discussions
  • Review designs across multiple disciplines for both internal and vendor teams
  • Initiate meetings with project stakeholders in order to gain a clear understanding of business drivers and functional requirements
  • Work with project and business analyst leads to develop and detailed technical requirements documentation
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and immerging technologies to evaluate existing environments, establish technology standards and identify opportunities to add value to the organization.
  • Provide operation support and oversight for application Performance Monitoring toolset.
  • As needed, troubleshoot and debug production outages and recommend fixes

Skills

  • Strong operational support experience including monitoring, issue resolution, performance tuning and capacity planning.
