Job Description

At Motion Industries, our Accountants are key members of our team. They support our branches by assisting with tax compliance in the areas of sales tax, property tax, and business licensing. Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales tax data, and assist with the preparation of state and local sales and use tax returns
  • Prepare property tax returns
  • Process assessment notices and property tax invoices 
  • Prepare business licenses and process related payments
  • Analyze and maintain accruals for tax accounts 
  • Analyze tax problems and provide instructions to branch personnel on the application of related tax laws 
  • Assist with sales and use tax audits conducted by state, local and international tax authorities 
  • Assist with general accounting work or special projects as assigned by management

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • Good computer skills required
  • Multi-state tax experience preferred 
  • Ability to think independently and resolve problems timely and efficiently
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines 
  • Creative and analytical
  • CPA preferred but not required
