Summary

The Inventory Data Analyst will provide support to the Inventory Control Team for strategic and critical supply chain initiatives. Projects include but are not limited to simulation modeling, supplier optimization, process improvements, forecast and regression analysis, daily communication efforts with field leadership, etc.  The Inventory Data Analyst will make decisions on strategic inventory initiatives. Additionally, the Inventory Data Analyst will monitor and govern inventory integrity across all company locations to ensure optimal deliverance of customer service and maximize profits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced workflow management, data analysis, and financial analysis techniques to ensure Motion always has the right products, in the right place, at the right time with minimal expense – ensuring positive economic value added (EVA) and maximum return on inventory assets
  • Assist in the production and publication of corporate training material to ensure full compliance of audit policies and procedures of inventory events – Physical Inventory / DC Mock Inventory / Obsolescence Program
  • Provide administrative and clerical support by facilitating interdepartmental communication, managing project schedules, and maintain business knowledge to support field leadership
  • Develop and implement just-in-time inventory and stocking level initiatives, decreasing annual excess inventory / increasing inventory turns
  • Assist in design and coordination of operational training workshops to 1000+ employees ranging from senior management, field leadership, and cross-functional departments – Procurement, IT, Finance, Marketing, Purchasing, etc.
  • Support executive and field leadership with development, implementation and maintenance of reports and dashboards – ensuring resources are accurate, up-to-date, and can be analyzed to reveal critical insights applicable to corporate supply chain initiatives
  • Automate monthly KPI reporting leveraging Qlik Sense Analytics, improving data accuracy / integrity, as well as optimizing branch warehouse / distribution center efficiency
  • Leverage Bloomberg Terminal to govern daily health of corporate supply chain, foresight actionable data to exceed customer supply / demand levels and mitigate foreseeable future risks.
  • Make decisions by applying problem-solving skills and liaise with supply chain teams to identify and enhance work-flow efficiencies, processes, software, and product databases.
  • Key interpreter of data, translating internal / external market insight trends into actionable insights and recommendations across 600+ company locations
  • Evaluate and strategize internal rebalance opportunities to locations with greater customer visibility and sales volume
  • Manage and expand corporate scrap programs to mitigate non-moving inventory and reduce vendor return costs

Skills and Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge in managing, extracting, and translating data into actionable insights
  • Drive project life cycles to ensure optimal data quality and integrity critical to exceed supply chain initiatives
  • Ability to design, test, and implement systemic projects to align business goals with technology solutions to drive process improvements and optimal data value
  • Proactively identify operational improvements to track and enhance data quality
  • Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, SQL and PowerPoint) preferred
  • Background in quantitative thinking and statistical data analysis

Qualifications and Experience

  • 4-year degree in business, statistics, analytics, or equivalent field / work experience
  • Preferred experience in coordinating complex projects from conception to delivery
  • Preferred experience crafting on-going target recommendations based on audience composition analysis
  • Preferred experience with visual analytical tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik Sense, etc.
