Corporate Inventory Control Manager

The Corporate Inventory Control Manager is responsible for managing inventory assets for Motion Industries, Inc. North America. They are to ensure Motion Industries has the right products, in the right places, at the right time, and in the most efficient manner. A successful Inventory Control Manager will be able to lead the Corporate Inventory Department to continuously improve upon the Company's strategic inventory initiatives, including the key performance indicators. Furthermore, the manager must be able to lead multiple disciplines to build relationships with and effectively communicate to all levels of the organization. To ensure long-term success in this role, the manager must be able to identify and implement continuous process and performance improvements.

 Responsibilities

  • Annually meets/exceeds inventory objectives.
  • Leads the company through the annual cycle counting/physical inventory processes. (May require some weekend/after-hours work during annual physical inventory process.)
  • Responsible for ensuring the Corporate Inventory Control team is appropriately staffed, trained, and ready for any challenge.
  • Possesses the ability to lead through change-management initiatives.
  • Develops and executes on a Corporate Inventory Business Plan.
  • Responsible, in collaboration with Corporate Finance, for reviewing and updating the internal control narratives for the physical inventory reconciliation process.
  • Provides status updates for critical inventory projects to all levels of company leadership.
  • Fully understands company customers, suppliers, systems and policies to ensure Just-In-Time inventory.
  • Continuously improves business processes, statistics/analytics, reporting, and inventory systems, which support efficient corporate inventory control/inventory management for the company.
  • Leads training events to communicate and teach the 'what/why' for inventory initiatives, best practices, and key performance indicators to corporate leadership, field leadership, branch management and suppliers.
  • Ensures full compliance of policies for handling obsolescence, consignment, physical inventory, and cycle counts.
  • Collaborates within all areas of the supply chain to identify and understand inventory opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or a related field and 3-5 years of related experience or the equivalent combination. Two (2) or more years’ experience in managing projects required.
  • Strong communication skills required.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Lean experience preferred.
  • Supply Chain, Inventory Management, and Finance acumen preferred.
  • Strong background in quantitative thinking and statistical data analysis preferred.
  • BI experience (Qlik, Power Bi, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience in presenting/teaching to small or medium size groups is a plus.
  • Experience in leading teams preferred.
