The Motion Market Research Analyst is a critical function within the company. Our analyst develops comprehensive reports and alerts globally. They manage our third-party data partner relationships and are responsible for reviewing and creating detailed competitive analyses with insights that enable the business to quantify, prioritize and capture opportunities in the industrial distribution market. Their analytic review will cover the company's current and historical performance, both in the field and online, on-demand territory analysis, identifying target audiences, market demand, industry/product trends, and supplier marketing campaign analysis. An ideal candidate is well versed in marketing, statistics, programming, and has solid business acumen.

 

Duties:

  • Continuously source and develop regular reports/alerts to senior leadership on market developments, changes in competitor landscape, and industry trends and forecasting
  • Create, support, and maintain global market size/share and opportunity models to aid regional marketing organizations with the implementation of marketing programs and strategic objectives
  • Create and maintain business applications utilizing SQL queries and Qlik Sense that aid the team in making strategic business decisions
  • Collaborate with partners across the organization to develop the appropriate infrastructure (people, process, data, technology) to support the reporting and analytics process.
  • Support leadership on projects related to channel marketing, product development, and market research.
  • Support sales and marketing initiatives including financial & strategic planning, reporting and management analysis.
  • Analyze competitive data for trends and make recommendations to improve product, sales processes, and other initiatives.
  • Conduct research and analysis of best practices related to sales processes.
  • Mine data from primary and secondary sources, then reorganizing said data in a format that can be easily read by either human or machine.
  • Using statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required - preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience of analytic responsibilities
  • Must be, analytical, a good communicator, be results oriented and have good organizational, and
  • people skills.
  • Must be an Excel super user and familiar with other software programs used in a Marketing Organization.
  • Must understand basic business intelligence concepts and data warehousing.
  • QlikSense, PowerBI, and/or Tableau experience required. Qlik Sense experience preferred.
