Associate Category Manger
Work closely with sales team to determine price strategy through analysis of sales trends, competitors, buying habits and planograms of products and services to promote sales opportunity.
Assist in special event coordination (trade shows, marketing incentive programs, etc.).
Develop and implement strategic plans that support the key objectives defined by the organization.
Must operate cross-functionally with Product Sourcing, Sales, Finance, IT, and Marketing departments to help transform both sales and market share growth.
Assist with the design of product catalogs (electronic and hard copy) which will include the layout, grouping, order, images, charts, etc.
Working knowledge of products, consumer needs, buying practices, sales goals and retail environment related to your category.
Assist Category Manager in negotiation process with DATA collection and analyzing the findings prior to negotiation process.
Assist Category Manager in market DATA gathering from the various sources available in the automotive/consumer aftermarket.
Arrange for samples to be sent to and approved through merchandising centers for planogram updates.
Must be the face of the product – continuous store visits, work with Regional Sales Managers, District Sales Manager/ on special pricing requests.
Must be able to assist customers as needed in resolving issues that may arise.
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and/or a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Category Management or related field such as purchasing/marketing/sales.
Strong time management and analytical skills.
Strong presentation/sales skills a must.
Excellent leadership, negotiating and planning skills a must.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Must be a self-starter.
Must be accountable and take ownership of assignments while following through on initiatives.
Proven project leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple initiatives that have significant financial impact.
Results driven with a desire to work in a fast paced environment; equally adept at providing leadership as well as working side by side with team.
Strong analytical skills and financial modeling.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Must have a safe work record with good ethics and dependable attendance record.
