Position Mission

The role of the Demand Planner is to develop and maintain a detailed demand plan using statistical tools, intelligence gathering and internal/external collaboration. This position is a key driver in creating and managing the demand signals by which to align the rest of the supply chain and company resources.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage Product Line forecasts and develop rolling 18-month line level demand plans
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Category & Sourcing Managers to identify trends and refine the demand plan
  • Facilitate collaborative calls with Vendor and Product to build forecast consensus
  • Maintain KPI's of forecast accuracy and bias, service metrics, and total sales vs. quota
  • Develop, monitor and communicate reports on forecast accuracy to Business Unit and Supply Chain organizations, while driving continuous improvement
  • Track performance and provide analysis of actual versus demand plan
  • Lead the pre-consensus discussion from a demand/forecasting perspective at Product Line level
  • Work proactively with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to avoid order shortages and excess inventory
  • Monitor promotions, events, and market conditions to ensure accurate demand plans
  • Develop New Item Introduction and Life Cycle Plans
  • Provide analysis and reports as required in support of KPI improvement
  • Provide analysis and support for SKU rationalization and other business initiatives

Experience, Education, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-4 years of demand planning or relevant supply chain coursework/experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong project management, process and conceptual skills
  • Demonstrated success in problem solving
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Financial acumen coupled with effective inter-personal style
  • Track record of cross-functional interaction
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
