Position Summary:

The HMDA Compliance Analyst is responsible for assisting in administering and maintaining the Company's Compliance program by validating conformity and adherence with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Housing Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), and other applicable federal and state fair lending laws and regulations. The role supports the Company's compliance and risk management efforts and creates management reports summarizing HMDA and other lending activity on a periodic (i.e. quarterly) basis.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of HMDA and other fair lending laws/regulations, analyzes potential impact to the Company and advises key personnel on recommended policy, procedure, and program training changes.
  • Provides guidance to the Company's First Line of Defense in relation to HMDA data collection, tracking, and reporting software systems.
  • Assists with remediation and corrective action of compliance deficiencies identified through internal and external compliance reviews, audits, and examinations
  • Ensure record retention requirements are met according to the Company's policies and procedures.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • 3-5 years experience in compliance and/or audit; 3 years working in banking or financial institution with a working knowledge of compliance laws and regulations
  • Working knowledge of loan processes and procedures required
  • Working knowledge of loan product qualifaction requirements preferred
  • Willing to learn and apply basic federal, state, and regulatory rules, laws, regulations, and statutes relevant to the mortgage industry
  • Strong work ethic
  • Precise attention to detail
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Experience with Encompass helpful but not required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, and Excel
