We have a joint venture with a local, high-producing ground up residential construction company and we are looking for a dynamic, personable, experienced loan officer to take on this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining referral relationships and a client base through prospecting and networking with strategic business partners in the community
  • Completing accurate mortgage loan applications
  • Counseling borrowers to understand the pros and cons of different construction loan products to determine which is best for them
  • Communicating interest rates, rate lock information, and closing costs accurately with borrowers
  • Being the link between the borrower and the processing, underwriting, and closing departments
  • Performing weekly update calls on all pre-qualified, pre-approved, and in-process loans to all interested parties
  • Continuously updating their knowledge base to maintain knowledge of guidelines and industry practices
  • Responsible for ensuring all applications are submitted in compliance with all regulatory guidelines and the lender's policies and procedures
  • Locking loans in the system with agreed upon terms and manage locked pipeline through the funding
  • Communicating regularly with borrowers to meet desired expectations
  • Communicating positively and professionally with operations staff throughout the process of the loan to ensure a smooth closing
  • Maintaining minimum productivity goals

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of mortgage loan origination and builder experience (preferred)
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Loan Origination Software, specifically Encompass
  • Current NMLS State License or Federal NMLS State Registration
  • Knowledge of FHA, FHLMC, FNMA, USDA, Jumbo, Non-QM, and VA loan types and Fixed-Rate, Adjustable-Rate, Construction and Interest-Only loan terms
  • Experience working autonomously
  • Desire to grow in an entrepreneurial environment
