Manager, Pricing Actuary

As Pricing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day pricing work of several personal and commercial lines products. This includes developing and filing rates, analyzing loss experience for filing indications, trends, and loss development, and advancing predictive analytical techniques for the products. You will play a key role in identifying segments that are underperforming and improving profitability. Also, providing leadership and mentoring to a team of actuarial analysts.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Products consist of Mobile/Manufactured Homes, Dwelling, Vacant, Specialty Homeowners, Agriculture, Commercial Auto, and Equine Medical and Mortality
  • Perform/Manage analysis of pricing and experience data, including communications of indications/rate impacts to business units
  • Perform/Manage all state rate filings for assigned products
  • Coordinating with Product on pricing for new coverage forms or rules
  • Coordinating with IT to ensure products are implemented in their entirety
  • Design BI tools to monitor company initiatives
  • Use various analytical techniques to evaluate loss drivers of products
  • Communicating as needed with other departments, such as Underwriting, Marketing, Regulatory, Product Development, and Claims on product-related issues
  • Managing a team of  actuarial analysts


  • Bachelors’ degree with actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics concentration
  • ACAS, near FCAS, or FCAS will be considered
  • 5 or more years of prior property & casualty actuarial pricing experience
  • Experience with filings and communications with DOIs
  • Personal Lines pricing experience a plus
  • Experience with predictive modeling of insurance a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, etc.) a must
  • Programming experience a plus (e.g. SQL, R, VBA)
  • Experience with Microsoft’s PowerBI (or comparable software) a plus but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
