Supervisor - Security (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm)
Description
- Hires, manages, develops, reviews, and sets goals for department and staff.
- Develops, maintains, and implement department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Develops, updates, and implements training programs for security team.
- Stays up to date and maintain adherence to current state, county, and city security laws.
- Consistently seeks areas of opportunity for improvement to help improve service levels and increase efficiency within department. Oversees the execution of duties and responsibilities according to ensure team adheres to established protocols and procedures.
- Partners with appropriate department such as Operations, Human Resources, etc. to plan out space reservation for events or meetings.
- Responds to escalated events ensuring situation is handled professionally, safely, and with minimal disruption.
- Contacts and interacts with authorities (e.g., police, fire departments, etc.) for emergencies or threats such as fire, medical emergency, unwelcomed violators, suspicious activities, etc.
- Serves as liaison to and from security team; ensuing all information are relayed timely.
- Manages expenses within areas of responsibility.
- Oversees the training and development of new and current team members in areas of policies, procedures, problem solving and decision making.
- Routinely checks in on facilities, employees, and team members.
- Oversees escalated and emergency situations at designated campus; contacts emergency serves as necessary.
- Participates in the security guard rotation, routine monitoring, patrolling, and execution of designated assignments.
- Patrols building and grounds by foot and vehicle to protect establishment against potential threats.
- Inspects, suggests, and adjusts security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
- Develops, executes, and ensures adherence to patrol schedules.
- Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, vendors, and others to maintain security of premises.
- Rejects, apprehends or evicts violators from premises if deemed necessary.
- Escorts personnel to their car and/or department as requested by management and or Human Resources.
- Examines and all entry points such doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
- Addresses violations, infractions, property damage, suspicious activity, threats, potential hazard, disturbances, and any other irregular activity.
- Responds to and investigate alarms and disturbances, addressing or escalating accordingly.
- Completes incident reports for irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Oversees escalated incidents and partners with Management, Facilities, Operations, or Human Resources as necessary.
- End handles escalated employee relations issues alongside with Human resources in a timely manner.
- Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum four (4) years of security guard or related working experience.
- Previous leadership experience, a plus.
- Current Security Guard License, required.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to comply with DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing requirements.
- Must be able to pass company driving background qualifications to operate company-assigned vehicles.
