Position at Glidewell Dental

Essential Functions: 

  • Conducts and coordinates on-site inspections to audit physical conditions, hazardous conditions, and safe work practices. Measures, evaluates, and identifies risks and provides recommendations for improvements in systems, policies and procedures.
  • Assists with controls for identified hazards by coordinating implementation of controls based on results of hazard analysis.
  • Monitors and investigates all recordable injuries and submits Safety Alert with incident information to all respective managers.
  • Inspects and documents fire extinguishers on a monthly basis; contacts fire extinguisher company when necessary for extinguisher add-ons or refills.
  • Logs EH&S inspection findings and/or suggestions into Corrective Action Reporting located in Corporate Connection under EH&S. Tracks progress of corrective actions from inception of findings to abatement process.
  • Works with EH&S staff and/or Loss Prevention consultants to develop various site maps such as Emergency Evacuation maps, Fire Extinguisher maps, Fire Alarm Zone(s) maps, etc.
  • Maintains all records including and not limited to New Hire training, General Safety training, Process Management Safety Training, Orange County Public Health Inspections, Hazardous Waste Manifest, Department of Transportation, Hepatitis B Vaccine, Purchasing Quotes and Invoices, Universal Waste tracking, Safety Shoe Policy and Expense Forms, Annual Fire Extinguisher Inspections, Fire Department Inspections, FDA Inspections, Forklift Inspections, Occupational Radiation Exposure Records, Sprinkler System Inspections, and Fire Alarm Inspection for facility.
  • Participates in Safety Committee and Risk Management & Loss Prevention meetings, and takes minutes. Assists Safety Committee members and/or Supervisors with safety related training topics. Assists EH&S personnel with Safety training set-up.
  • Provides New Hire Environmental, Health & Safety training.
  • Performs weekly Hazardous Waste inspections and maintains Hazardous Waste inventories.
  • Ensures proper labeling of hazardous waste. Tracks biohazard waste totals.
  • Performs safe removal of SMS 2400 sharps system and replacements when sharps containers are full.
  • Responds to chemical spills (i.e. oil) and other major incidences.
  • Assists in safety and health incident investigations and coordinates with Worker’s Compensation function with respect to Return-to-Work program.
  • Assists in organizing, entering data and preparing presentations, charts, and graphs.
  • Participates in Emergency Action Plan activities. Administers First Aid and CPR as necessary.
  • Acts as liaison between Company and vendors providing services, maintenance, and repairs for facilities related equipment and infrastructure. Ensures proper and adequate safety supplies are in inventory by coordinating with Purchasing Department.
  • Manages Bloodborne Pathogens and Hepatitis B programs.
  • Maintains knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to Environmental, Health & Safety programs.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.


Pay range: $23.00-28.00/hr
