Logistics Support Specialist (Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm)
Description
- Coordinates and onboards new carriers.
- Maintains company-wide carrier account lists. Activates online billing for carrier accounts.
- Works with carriers to troubleshoot shipping applications and service and/or delivery delays.
- Communicates feedback regarding carrier performance to carrier representative.
- Researches carrier services to evaluate and identify potential cost savings.
- Performs courier audits including but not limited to dispute and payment authorizations, invoice inaccuracies, and ensure accounts are up to date.
- Partners with appropriate departments to plan and execute carrier/shipping changes.
- Ensures company-shipping codes and shipping information on internal Company websites are accurate are up-to-date.
- Collaborates with various departments to disclose shipping updates, costs, and best practices.
- Provides trainings and educates internal company personnel on shipping processes. Ensures shipping solutions training is available and implemented companywide.
- Redesigns processes within Logistics Support to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.
- Reconciles unallocated shipments; determines and addresses the root cause of issues.
- Assigns and updates general ledger codes for accounts.
- Administers annual renewals of postage accounts. Processes and approves payment.
- Updates appropriate forms and templates with new account information.
- Troubleshoots packages and shipments.
- Collaborates with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) for a lab contingency plan. Supports the company's business continuity program.
- Administers and maintains business rules within the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Works with appropriate personnel to support development and integration of shipping solutions into company software and applications.
- Works with IT department and external logistics management group (LMG) to coordinate projects and create reports. Compiles data for reports and analysis from internal and third-party software.
- Works with all leads in labs regarding shipping solutions and needs.
- Develops audit strategy to reduce errors when shipping a package.
- Assists in the setup of new accounts on café systems.
- Builds rapport and develops relationships with internal departments, external vendors, and offsite labs.
- Performs package testing to support packaging changes.
- Serves as backup to support team members with warehouse, driving, freight schedules, quotes, and fulfillment as needed.
- Provides support for remote locations as needed.
- Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a high-volume shipping/fulfillment role required.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working for a major transportation or logistics carrier, a plus.
- Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience, a plus.
- Experience with transportation administration and billing, plus.
- Experience with international shipping, a plus.
- Industry recognized supply chain management certification, a plus.
Pay Range: $20.46-$27.28/hr
