Essential Functions: 
  • Oversees assigned staff including but not limited to scheduling, directing, assigning work, and ensuring tasks/projects are completed in a timely manner and adheres to operational standards.
  • Motivates employees, assists in goals setting, provides development opportunities and performance feedback, mentors, and addresses complaints and provides resolutions.
  • Drives a data culture throughout the company and solves data use cases using transactional and customer interaction data. 
  • Partners with data engineering team to implement data infrastructure and models to support machine learning development.
  • Owns all phases of machine learning development lifecycle from gathering business requirements, design and modeling, development, deployment, and support.
  • Responsible for the management and execution of project plans and delivery commitments. Manages the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders and management to translate product visions, business cases and user experiences into technical requirements, scopes development efforts and assigns resources to execute against prioritized product roadmaps.
  • Leads the machine learning and software engineering team in solving complex business problems using AI/Machine Learning and real-time dashboards.
  • Defines and leads technology strategies, team direction, resolves problems and provides guidance to the team.
  • Partners with internal team members to define and ensure data science best software engineering practices.
  • Provides technical mentorship in machine learning engineering and research topics including features engineering, analysis, modeling, and production deployment.
  • Drives efficiencies and best practices across teams.
  • Keeps abreast of new technology and trends and makes recommendations and implements improvements/upgrades as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
 
Education and Experience:
  • Master’s degree in machine learning, deep learning, or a computer science-related field. PhD preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant working experience required. Understands fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of ML field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in data discovery, data aggregation and feature engineering with excellent SQL query writing skills required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in training, evaluating, optimizing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models on production systems required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in logging, tracking, A/B testing, evaluate and analysis the performance of different ML algorithms and models on production systems required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in application developing and strong development skills in Python programming language and have experience in developing data-driven, scalable, and reliable applications with AWS required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in applying machine learning algorithms to solve a wide range of optimization problems like customer sales prediction, recommendation engine, sentiment analysis, deep learning with image and natural language, customer segmentations/clustering, object detection required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in using popular open-source ML/Deep learning libraries like MxNet/Gluon, Tensorflow, scikit-learn, pandas, pyTorch, Keras, xgboost, LightGBM, Turi Create and Nvidia Digits required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in working with relational, non-relational, and high-scale data processing and storage frameworks like SQL, AWS RedShift, Aurora, S3, DynamoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with AWS Serverless architecture and AWS native services.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in AI/Machine Learning.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience managing and leading a team of Machine Learning Engineers and Software Engineers.
  • Experience in machine learning techniques such as GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, Bayesian Optimization, etc. required.
  • Hands-on experience in creating dashboards in Tableau or equivalent tools required.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Services like EC2, Lambda, Step Functions, SageMaker, DeepLens, Rekognition, IoT, GreenGrass, Comprehend, Lex/Polly, and Transcribe required.
  • Passion for data and providing business solutions using AI and Machine Learning.

 

Pay Range: $125,906.85 - 160,000.00/yr
