A Day in the Life of a Manufacturing Operator | Join the Team at Glidewell
Essential Functions:
- Manufactures work orders in one (1) of the following areas: BruxZir Colloidal, BruxZir NOW, BruxZir Press, BruxZir Shade Guide, Composites, Injection Molding, and Obsidian.
- Obtains materials from storage locations as per work order requirements.
- Measures, pre-batches, and delivers all components to blending area; verifies quantity and ingredient lot numbers going into the batch and documents on Bill of Material sheets.
- Weighs powders and liquids using a scale to prepare batches. Adheres to formula instructions to make scheduled batches.
- Issues components to the work order. Reports production of work-in-progress (WIP) and/or finished goods using handheld mobile devices.
- Operates a variety of manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to: table top presses, hydraulic presses, CNC machines, CMM and vision measurement systems, mills, injection molding machines, furnaces, ovens, mixers, and surface grinders. Utilizes hand tools such as ultrasonic scanners, glue dispensers, micrometers.
- Inspect products to ensure quality requirements are met, may include but is not limited to:
- Visual inspections for defects (chips, cracks, contamination, other imperfections)
- Dimensional measurements
- Verify shade
- Completes accurate paperwork related to manufacturing process.
- Labels and packages products for shipment to inventory according to SOP’s.
- Conducts final inspection and verification of finished goods and manufacturing documentation to ensure conformance to customer specifications
- Identifies and separates non-conforming products.
- Documents, records, and maintains all inspection and outgoing paperwork including completion and documentation of test and inspection results.
- Solves daily operations problems with limited supervision.
- Transports materials to next scheduled operation.
- Cleans, organizes, and maintains assigned work area per company 6S policy and standards.
- Completes daily job checklists and equipment checks/calibrations to maintain quality. Participates in 6S and kaizen activity as directed.
- Documents individual production using a variety of tools such as hour-by-hour boards, takt time tracking, and other visual management systems.
- Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one (1) year of manufacturing experience.
Pay Range: $20.00/hr. - $22.00/hr.
Payment Processing Clerk
Essential Functions:
- Processes auto pay enrollments received by phone, email and secure fax.
- Accurately records payments received into Great Plains or APC.
- Sends funds electronically to the bank utilizing business deposit captures.
- Assists with generation, print, and fold of monthly customer statements and past due letters.
- Ensures accurate posting by verifying the account number, company name, payment amount and invoices.
- Returns duplicate and/or overpayments received to the customers via US Mail.
- Resolves customer inquiries related to current and previous account balance and credit card and check payments.
- Assists with general office tasks including department work queues, faxing, emailing, filing and outbound calls regarding invalid check and/or credit card data received.
- Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience.

Essential Functions:
- Unloads and verifies materials upon delivery.
- Verifies accuracy of materials paperwork.
- Identifies products that require further inspection by Quality Assurance (QA) team before placing into inventory.
- Tags and places items in designated area and moves materials to designated area in the stockroom upon audit completion.
- Utilizes scanner or computer to adjust and transfer items to other departments and people.
- Works back stock of items.
- Processes reoccurring and/or as-needed transfers, replenishment, and deliveries per each department’s request to avoid discrepancies and/or delays to manufacturing.
- Ensure FIFO (first in first out) processes are adhered to when stocking items.

Scheduler
Essential Functions:
- Provides administrative support such as verifying and/or scheduling shipping dates, scanning cases, and serving as liaison to other departments.
- Timely communicates with dental offices to advise Customers of changes to shipping dates and/or to verify case information via phone or email utilizing established scripts or templates.
- Updates case boxes, applicable work order/case tracking system (i.e., DL+), and applicable customer management system to reflect changes in shipping dates.
- Creates modeless case pan; coordinates with digital team for model printing.
- Monitors production flow and understands effects of production issues on shipping dates; schedules new shipping dates as necessary.
- Monitors rush case flow to ensure cases with impending ship dates are completed on time; coordinates with Management and Call Center staff to ensure completion of rush cases.
- Informs next work shift team of important production updates, including necessary management team.
- Ensures cases contains RX photos; prints RX photos and locates case in order to combine materials if needed.
- Utilizes GO Location Scan to keep track of cases location and status on production floor.
- Prints/reprints prescriptions from work order/case tracking system as necessary.
- Timely scans cases to update location tracking as cases move are moved to different locations.
- Assigns cases to Dental Technicians through DL Touch.
- Monitors Outlook email inbox.

CAD/CAM Designer
Essential Functions:
- Designs, fabricates, and repairs dental prosthesis/dental appliances using designated software technology.
- Reads and understands prescription; constructs prostheses by following doctors’ orders and instructions.
- Evaluates and modifies designs to ensure correct crown placement and contact/occlusion parameters are within specification.
- Performs undercut curtain check and removal.
- Performs crown seating simulation and adjusts design as needed.

Administrative Assistant
Essential Functions:
- Provides administrative support for all operations, fleet, cafeteria, parking, and janitorial requests.
- Administer all access-related assignments including but not limited to parking, building/facility, card replacement, EV, access verification, etc.
- Receives, submits, process, and reconcile ordering requests for assigned department such as Cafeteria, Vending Machines, Janitorial, etc.
- Serves designated primary contact for operations-related inquiries.
- Processes vendors invoices and payments utilizing Quickbooks.

Mechanical Assembler
Essential Functions:
- Assists in the installation of mechanical components to meet drawing specifications using screws, dowel pins, retainer rings, etc.
- Reads blueprints for proper order of assembly and to ensure accurate torque setting for screws.
- Assists in installation of electromechanical components such as, but not limited to electric linear actuators (Festo) and pneumatic actuators.
- Installs electromechanical components such as, but not limited to electric linear actuators (Festo) and pneumatic actuators.
- Assists in the installation of components such as, but not limited to air cylinders, valves, flow control valves, and air filter regulators and lubricators, according to pneumatic schematics.
- Routes electric cables and air lines from throughout machine to controller.
- Aligns mechanical components using dial indicator.
- Works under direction of both written and verbal instructions from Supervisor, Engineer, Designer and/or Manager.
- Maintains a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and wears protective equipment as required.
- Performs simple machine movements to test for correct installation of components.
- Troubleshoots mechanical problems during assembly; notifies Manager/Supervisor of complex problems.
- Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require as directed by management.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in electro-mechanical systems, such as the ability to read and/or author detailed electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings, a plus.

- Verifies all models and impression of the cases.
- Thoroughly reads all notes and instructions included with the case before nesting.
- Ensures the machine is clean and free from extra material from the vat.
- Checks the proper level of resin inside the vat.
- Ensures all print job is clean and all resin is removed from the print job.
- Matches correct printed crown to the cases.
- Scans all the cases going out of the printing room using GO location scan.
- Communicates with colleagues and managers in a prompt articulate manner.
- Documents actions by completing forms, logs and reports.
- Works closely with quality control specialists and addresses all issues regarding quality standards.

Customer Service Representative at Glidewell
Essential Functions:
- Completes and participates in all customer service training program curriculum and activities.
- Attends and actively participates in instructor led trainings (ILTs) on topics including but not limited to company history, communication techniques, company products, scheduling, crediting, rush cases, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

Accounts Receivable & Collections Clerk
Essential Functions:
- Maintains appropriate systems; updates payment information.
- Inputs receivable payments within an allotted time frame.
- Generates and prints monthly customer statements and past due letters.
- Provides excellent customer service with requests regarding current and previous account balances, collection issues, processing customer refunds, reviewing and processing account adjustments, and resolving client discrepancies.
- Monitors and maintains assigned accounts to ensure calls, account adjustments, and customer reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.
- Accurately recodes all payments received to provide correct balance data.
- Maintains a high volume outbound call quota to assigned delinquent customers and responsible for reducing the number of assigned delinquencies.

Inventory Clerk
Essential Functions:
- Unpacks and inspects delivered goods against purchase order and pack slip to ensure delivery of accurate item/ quantity. Signs off on receipt to acknowledge accurate delivery.
- Operates company heavy equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, hand forklift, etc.) to unload, load, move or deliver goods.
- Labels, scans, receives, attaches signed pack list to the purchase order, and stores items in warehouse or supply room accordingly.
- Assesses and separates packages for special orders; notifies, arranges, and ensures pickup signoffs with requestor.
- Receives production equipment and machinery, inputs manufacture serial number and assign company asset tag in asset management module.
- Fulfill internal customer requests via walk-up window, issue out material to the technician or right department/ building.
- Maintains supply inventory; verifies inventory levels by checking shelves, and place request for order with purchaser as appropriate.
- Conducts daily checks for bin refills; replenish with overstock supplies if applicable.
- Maintain strong knowledge and familiarity with supply layout to support efficient and timely service.
- Performs cycle count of supply inventory; verifies inventory quantity against ICS (inventory control system) to ensure accuracy and sufficient stock on hand.
- Captures and investigates any inaccuracies or discrepancies regarding supply levels, and reports information to management.
- Creates and implements efficient space planning within the supply room and warehouse to maximize space utilization.

Security Guard
Essential Functions:
- Monitor facility and surrounding areas to guard against suspicious activities.
- Patrols building and grounds by foot and vehicle to protect establishment against potential threats.
- Fulfills front desk duties during off-hours such as responding to phone calls, assisting customers, responding to incoming inquires, contacting employees and managers, vendor assistance, relaying information to appropriate parties, etc.

Janitorial Team Member
Essential Functions:
- Gathers and empties various trash containers; replaces trash liners.
- Attends restrooms; includes but is not limited to:
- Cleaning and wiping down countertops, sink basins, and mirrors.
- Mopping/sweeping floors to ensure all trash and water is removed.
- Cleaning and sanitizing toilet/urinals.
- Cleaning and wiping down doors and walls as necessary.
- Restocking toilet paper, seat covers, and paper towel dispensers.
- Checking and refilling air freshener dispensers as needed.
- Cleans and dusts all appropriate surface areas in break rooms and common areas as well as production areas throughout the Company, including but not limited to countertops, tables, desks, chairs, microwaves, refrigerators, and equipment.
- Cleans and wipes down windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Dusts furniture, walls, office machines, and equipment.
- Cleans all floors in stairwells, hallways, office areas, lab areas, and general work areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and/or vacuuming.
- Wipes down stairwell handrails.
- Immediately informs Team Lead, Supervisor, or Manager of any needed repairs to facilities and/or equipment.
- Restocks supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas as necessary.
- Requests needed supplies and equipment in a timely manner as to not hinder continued execution of job duties.
- Follows all safety procedures for use of chemical cleaners, disinfectants, and cleaning equipment.
- Maintains janitor closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
- Maintains a professional and courteous demeanor while working in locations with a high volume of employees and in areas that require frequent contact with employee population and general public.
- Cleans exterior common areas around the Company facilities such as but not limited to building entrances, outside sitting areas, and patio areas as necessary.
- Maintains hard-surface floor areas by stripping, sealing, finishing, polishing, waxing, and/or buffing using chemical agents and power equipment as necessary.
- Performs general grounds-keeping duties such as but not limited to watering plants, sweeping/raking leaves, and removal of dead foliage from planter areas as necessary.
