Gigamon is seeking a Director of Software Engineering for our GigaSMART team. The right candidate will lead a team of top-notch engineers towards the design and development of GigaSMART technologies. Working as part of a growing, dynamic team, the candidate will thrive in a cross-functional team environment to achieve project deliverables and will have the opportunity to make a significant impact to the product lines.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of top-notch engineers towards the design and development of GigaSMART technologies
  • Work effectively with all stakeholders and engineers throughout the lifecycle of the product to deliver a competitive product with the right quality in a fast-paced environment
  • Work with Product Management, Sustaining, Support and customers to define the product backlog, roadmap, and plans
  • Hire, retain, develop, and motivate a world-class team of engineers to be able to product cutting-edge competitive products
  • Understand the technical stack, architecture, tools and code base and influence decisions to keep them cutting-edge and highly effective

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of hands-on professional experience designing and developing complex networking software using real-time embedded systems
  • 5+ years of hands-on engineering management experience delivering high quality enterprise software
  • Proven successful technical leadership experience
  • Ability to manage across functional and geographic boundaries
  • Experience managing teams developing software for networking protocols including TCP/IP and ethernet protocols
  • Knowledge of security technologies Including VPN, firewalls, and telecom protocols
  • Good understanding of multi-core, multi-threading systems
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • BS (or higher degree) in CS or related field
