We are seeking a Sr. Manager of Sales Engineering to lead a team of talented Sales Engineers focused on new, add-on, and renewal sales to enterprise accounts in the Northeast Region. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in networking and cloud (private and public) and prior experience managing technical sales teams. An ability to “lead from the front” and a willingness to act as both player and coach to help your team secure the technical win will be key to your success. 
 
What you'll do: 
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of your team of Sales Engineers 
  • Resource management - assign projects, accounts, and meetings to Sales Engineers as required and resolve scheduling conflicts. 
  • Work as an individual contributor for key accounts as needed or requested. 
  • Participate in technical sales calls and create sales and evaluation strategies at the account level. 
  • Engage directly with customers in technical or sales escalations, and drive issues to resolution. 
  • Provide technical leadership and product expertise to the team and the larger sales organization. 
  • Manage all aspects of people management, including hiring, development, training, regular 1:1s, and annual reviews. 
  • Provide feedback and direction, both positive and constructive 
  • Work collaboratively with other groups, including Sales, Professional Services, Support, Engineering, and Product Management, to ensure the effective operation of your team, achieve technical wins, and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction. 
  • Formulate best practices for presentations, proof of concepts, and evaluations. 
  • Be the escalation point for any unresolved technical issue affecting future sales. 
  • Create SE to PLM/Engineering knowledge exchange. 
  • Articulate training needs to the WW SE Director to ensure relevant material/programs are produced. 
  • Collaborate with the WW SE Leadership Team to plan and deliver training programs. Assist with measuring and evaluating training effectiveness within the team. 
  • Advocate customer requirements identified by the team. 
  • Participate in weekly WW Leadership team calls and monthly Feature Request calls to help prioritize product development and communicate product strategy to the field. 
  • Collect and prioritize the field requirements for product internationalization and liaise with Product Marketing to ensure timely development and release. 
 
What you've done: 
  • B.A. degree or equivalent in Engineering, Math, technology, or business-related discipline. M.B.A. is a plus. 
  • 5 years experience in a sales leadership and/or management sales operations role 
  • 10+ years experience in Sales, Field, or Marketing roles 
  • Demonstrated track record of developing SE teams. 
  • Field experience as an SE is a plus.

  • Strong project planning, program management, and implementation skills; a self-starter. 
  • Exceptional analytic skills and conceptual thinking ability.

The base salary compensation range targeted for this role based out of Gigamon’s Santa Clara, CA Headquarters office is [$150,000 - $215,000], with an opportunity to earn an annual bonus or commission (subject to terms and conditions of the plan). This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
