DESCRIPTION:

The company is committed to becoming a user of essential property technology (“PropTech”) that will enhance asset value while maintaining a human-first approach to resident services; removing tedious, repetitive tasks that neither enhance resident satisfaction or employee productivity. Utilizing industry leading systems, this technology role will integrate new technologies into the property management platform across the portfolio.  An understanding of multifamily operations is required, as the Manager, PropTech will work directly with Windsor Communities (“Windsor”) and GID IT leadership in designing and prioritizing solutions. This role will require a unique mix of technology and business acumen.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in development and execution of Windsor’s overall PropTech strategy to include key areas such as Smart Home/Smart Access, Self-Guided Tour, Package management, Maintenance optimization, and Resident Experience applications.    
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all property technology deployed across the Windsor portfolio. 
  • Responsible for ensuring all technology partners participate in GID’s Vendor Risk Management (VRM) and subject to the Vendor Review Board (VRB). 
  • Conduct vendor evaluation and product assessments via both informal and formal requests for information (RFI) and request for proposal (RFP) methods. 
  • Conduct vendor reviews to ensure services are delivered per contractual requirements. Responsible for scheduling and directing quarterly business reviews (QBR) for critical technology partners. 
  • Monitor and evaluate existing and future trends in technology that may affect Windsor’s strategic plans, including monitoring overall industry trends (e.g. business models, adoption, leading vendors). 
  • Assist Regions and Properties with capital planning, asset and portfolio management. 
  • Provide critical escalation support to Windsor property teams experiencing challenges with their technology and vendors. 
  • Evaluate performance and returns on prospective and existing prop tech initiatives (i.e. know the business drivers). Ensure performance, budget and other operational benchmarks are measured as key performance indicators (KPIs). 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technology or operations role, with a focus on PropTech and multifamily real estate technology. 
  • Strong understanding of the latest technological trends and developments in the multifamily industry.
  • Experience in leading the development and implementation of technology solutions for property management and leasing, and customer engagement. 
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into solutions. 
  • Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience.  
  • In depth understanding of technology vendor third party management.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and solve problems collaboratively. 
  • Problem solving skills and ability to think strategically. 
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 
COMPENSATION:
  • Our company considers a range of factors including education and experience when determining base compensation.
  • Compensation range: $100,000 - $120,000 + 15% bonus potential.
