DESCRIPTION:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions of the family office. This includes the preparation and maintenance of financial reports. The role involves working closely with family members, family office employees, financial institutions, and external professional advisors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare quarterly financial statements for the family office including balance sheets, income statements and equity statements.
- Manage payables/receivables for family office clients. This includes reconciling invoices and apportioning costs across individuals/trusts/entities.
- Oversee bank and investment account reconciliations monthly.
- Coordinate exchange of financial information between family office and third-party service providers (tax, investment, legal).
- Track and file tax, investment, and legal documents for family office clients and associated entities.
- Manage budget projections and quarterly budget-to-actual reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills.
- Experience working in accounting, preferably with family office, private wealth, or similar environment.
- The ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential information and documentation appropriately.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA+).
- 2-5 years experience working in accounting, preferably in a family office or a similar/related environment.
- Tax experience preferred: In order of importance: Trusts, Individuals, Partnerships (LLCs, S-Corps, etc,), Gift & Estate.
- Experience with accounting software preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
