POSITION:  Supply Chain Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Analyst will conduct data analysis to improve our supply chain operations. Projects include developing and tracking KPIs for supply chain performance, the optimization mapping of facilities and service capabilities, distribution center, and customer orders, as well as the transportation and communications links between them. The main goal of the role is to cross functionally increase supply chain efficiency and reduce unnecessary costs, while exceeding customer expectations. In this role, the analyst should have an inherently curious mind and strong business acumen. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Develop and implement best in class reporting and analysis tools backed with ROI projections
  • Collaborate with sales, procurement and operations colleagues toward common goals
  • Create capacity models for strategic initiatives
  • Participate in functional efficacy programs to improve processes
  • Analyze supplier and sales trends and develop patterns for market modeling
  • Transform various data sets to build cohesive, data-driven, actionable reporting
  • Lead multidisciplinary training on analysis tools and strategies
  • Represent GCG at industry events
  • Recruit and train new employees

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree; Post graduate degree preferred
  • At least three (3) years of analytical experience with track record of results
  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel, strong experience with other analytical tools such as Access, SQL, etc.
  • Project management and/or financial reporting experience are a plus!

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applied understanding of sales development and inventory control concepts in a distribution and production environment
  • Understanding of logistics, basic accounting principles and warehouse operations
  • Strong understanding of profitability and financial impact of purchasing and sales decisions
  • Strong analytical skills – specifically around profitability and financial results
  • Able to coach and be coachable
  • Able to manage disparate work flows simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong verbal and written skills 
  • Detail oriented

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office environment; no adverse environmental conditions expected
  • Less than 20% travel – industry events, supplier facilities, internal meetings

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
