Genuine Cable Group (GCG) is hiring several part-time Warehouse Associates in Schaumburg, IL for our 4:00-8:30p shift. We are open to both entry-level and more experienced candidates. This is a great opportunity if you’re looking for work that won’t compete with other priorities in the mornings and early afternoons, and allows you to continue to use your weekends for rest and relaxation!

Our warehouse associates take responsibility for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, organizing and retrieving stock, picking and filling orders from stock, and packing and shipping orders with accuracy. Some positions may require driving a forklift. We recognize that providing excellent service to our customers begins with our warehouse teams. Pay ranges from $17-18/hr, and higher for positions requiring forklift operation.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate machine to cut and spool continuous lengths of material
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials
  • Consult and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications
  • Deliver or route materials to departments, using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins
  • Compute amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage, and demurrage charges, using calculator or price list
  • Operate equipment and machines, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties as needed

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous warehouse experience (preferred)
  • Ability to operate machinery
  • Ability to operate a forklift (for forklift operation positions)
  • Ability to move/lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Planning and time management skills
  • Communication and customer service skills
  • Commitment to safety
  • Oracle experience a plus
